We decided to make the most of the sun, and set off for the Lakes mid-morning.
Heading north out of Preston on the M6 roof down to junction 40, then west on the A66 towards Keswick.
Outward journey:
Parked up here for sandwiches and tea & coffee from our new flasks.
After a stop in Keswick and a walk along the edge of Derwent water:
Then headed off to the Langdale Chase in Windermere via the Kirkstone Pass:
Pulled in at a lay-by for this pic of Ullswater:
My favourite road sign:
The Langdale Chase - Windermere:

Then off to Bowness for a fish & chips takeaway, then back to Preston picking up the M6 south at junction 36.
We haven’t driven the Zed for quite some time, and so getting out in it yesterday for the first time in many weeks was a pure delight - roof down all the way. The pleasure I get from driving this car never diminishes
A wonderful day.
