I see they've gone for the traditional look.............

Now now boys - this is time consuming and negative, my last dreary words on this post.

I think saying a certain dealer talks s**t has nothing to do with prices, his comments were bollocks unless it really does smell like it came out of the factory, if so I stand corrected and if someone does offer him the price for the vehicle in cash would he really be choosy over the buyer, I would not.
Yes dealers manipulate, Knights have not really done so and have been fair on prices, no one has questioned that or his knowledge, I questioned him being a bull shitter.

I never slated Steve's car, in fact I have never mentioned it, I said he was a decent guy, traipsing through old posts you have too much time, almost as much as me writing this :)

If someone is skint it would not of been nice to say that, nor would I be looking, I would not questions someone's finances. The fact I don't want to take a hit on a f type r awd with doing 2,000 miles per year would be common sense.

The fact I have not seen a truly immaculate z4 m coupe is not my fault and yes there is a load of fairly high mileage average overpriced ones out there (apart from the hexagon one which has gone up about £10,000 a year, you might as well make it £59,995 for 2016), maybe it is the fact I had a new one, when I have been looking the great ones have not been there and they are 8-10 years old, maybe I am expecting too much.

Only pulling your leg about the "Marmite Car" hope I didn't cause offence. :driving:

Your task is almost impossible, as you are comparing a new car to a 10 year old one (unless you had bought mine  ). You would have needed to have found a garaged example, low miles and someone like me who does not touch the bolsters of the seats when getting in and out. Also, someone who invested in paint protection when the car was new (yes - it was expensive but having 0 swirl marks after 7 years was worth it).

Perhaps the new car smell came from one of these:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Dakota-Car-ODOR-BOMB-Eliminator/dp/B006T1MBNI

i know someone who has used these time and time again, it elimates all odor from there car after a couple of hours

Cheers

Time consuming & negative  like your MC search
Its hard not to read your comments across the board & not see a condescending attitude show through them
You haven't viewed every car for sale so how would you know if many are or aren't immaculate ?
Your comment on Deep1989s sale post was a sublime example
"It is a lovely car but I am looking for something in better condition, good luck with the sale "
id take that as a insult if that was my used car
Anyhow I do genuinely wish you the best of luck in your quest

I do think maybe your expectations are a bit high. Having seen many Z4M's, I would buy mine back in an instance. Cosmetic issues can be fixed fairly easily. Unfortunately, it had rained when you viewed mine and so you couldn't verify the condition of the paint. Granted the bolsters had a bit of wear and the plastic lining in the boot was scratched, but again easy fixes. That i'd recently spent £800 on brand new Michelin PSS' and £1200 on an Insp II and had sorted every quibble on the car mechanically, I think that counts for far more. You just never know how second hand cars fair mechanically, but a bit of research would have told you how loved mine had been in the two years undr my ownership.

....actually, Russell who did you sell mine to? Could I grab their contact number?

Going back to the original theme of this thread....

I'd would like to buy from Knights. He seems to prepare his cars very well, certainly has a good knowledge of the Z4m and I would like the peace of mind. Unfortunately for me, his current stock is slightly out of my budget but that's hardly his problem!

I like his style too, he came on here and politely and succinctly addressed some of the sniping (mine included  ). He's got some great stock thats for sure

Sold mine to Russell too.

His comments about the leather are typical of BMWs of the period the leather smell is strong and when I sold mine at 60 odd thousand miles evertime you got in it was an intoxicating smell which I don't see why the comment is upsetting people so much.

Really great guy wouldn't hesitate to buy from him. The stuff he sells is the best of the best.

I find this thread a bit typical of the Z4-forum these days idiots coming out of the wood work. Not cool

If anything from my search, this is about as good as it gets in the current market.

Just to add my two pence, I would also buy from Russell (if he had the right car for me). When I was looking, he had a couple of lovely cars but I was really on the lookout for a SG w/ Red car and one came up through the forum that ticked all the boxes for me.

That was spring and I was scratching an itch after having to sell my first Z4MC to finance a flat purchase.

Itch now partially scratched so it is with Russell to sell. If anyone is interested in the car and would like to talk directly, happy to chat. Russell can pass on my details once you have spoken to him.

My car has Knights in its sales history (usefully, the ad was still accessible at the time I bought it off another forum member) and I viewed that as a positive when I was buying. I had heard overwhelmingly good things about Knights and definitely did my fair share of window shopping on the site! Much as I hate marketeering, it's forgiveable in a market where there are so many examples of genuine deception and/or poorly maintained stock.

He defo does like to spout drivel. His ad for the R32 Golf is awesome. Pop the kettle on and make a STRONG coffee and make yourself comfie for a lovely long read.
