Knights Garage - does he talk sh**?

The 50,000 mile z4 m coupe - "the new car smell is still present" , he must copy and paste this on all his coupes as he had it previously on a z3 m coupe - its only had 5 owners and managed to maintain the new smell, wow - check the link below

Second chuckle of the day, thanks :D

14 year ‘new’ cabin exudes a newly registered car smell

Ha, can't speak for the new car smell, but he does know his Z4M's and especially the S54 engine.

I sold mine to him just over a year ago now and I know of 3 other members that also sold to him. When he looked at mine, he knew exactly what to look for. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from him and inevitably when I want a Z4M again, I'll give him a call.

That may well be the case but he talks at least some s**t :) I called him up once and he was going on about how he likes to choose his buyers (pause, cough, think about what bollocks I have just said)........, a real bull shitters trait.

He has definitely had some nice z4 m coupes in the past, must be the permanent ad on PH.

Anyway I hope everything is well with you, you are a descent guy, I am sure I viewed and drove your coupe near Gatwick one Friday night at some point last year (the only one I viewed last year), the mods you carried out made a great difference, since then I have been on / off looking

The ad for that car also says:
BMWs warranty has been kept running by previous owners enlisting the ultimate after- care package direct from the manufacturer. This opportunity will available to the new keeper if they so wish.
which is total bullshit, as the warranty can not be transferred once the car has been sold to a trader (only if it is sold privately). And yes, BMW's Warranty Department do keep an eye on the ads to see which cars are being sold by the trade!

Got to agree, I'm sure he's a decent enough guy/trader, but if his adverts spout rubbish like this then you kind of feel what else is he B/S about with the car...

Can you imagine if someone put an ad like that on here... :fuelfire:

Ha, next time I will source cars that smell of cigarettes , fast food, dodgy after shave and whatever else which is preferred to a satisfying non disturbed strong leather smell. If you would like to come and view this Coupe you are welcome to.

FYI Z4MCoupe2009 I was driving and selling Z4Ms from late 2006 and since then handled around 50 sales so I am reasonably well versed to an opinion of how they come from the factory.

Personally, being a 10 year fan of these cars I get still excited when a really top car is shown to me. I spend a fair amount of time being disappointed by many wildly over priced and unloved examples, mostly still for sale at the moment.

I track my 'S54' M Coupe and I know what engine temps work well and which don't. Plus, Andrew wanted the cheapest price from me so paid well under market value which meant no warranty from me as my margin was stripped. He then wanted to add BMWs own.

I was as surprised as you when I got into the cabin. Original carpet mats and matte leather are give away signs.

Some cars really are looked after, many aren't.

 Your comments confirm how I operate my business. There are many guys on here who I enjoy working with and sadly a few keyboard warriors, 'cough cough' who I don't need to work with or buy cars from.

He has definitely had some nice z4 m coupes in the past, must be the permanent ad on PH.

The right cars come from various places, previous customers, forum members, friends, people wanting me to sell their car for them, adverts wanting stock. Never from auctions or anyone in the trade.

Anyway I hope everything is well with you, you are a descent guy, I am sure I viewed and drove your coupe near Gatwick one Friday night at some point last year (the only one I viewed last year), the mods you carried out made a great difference, since then I have been on / off looking

Hi KnightsG and welcome back - not seen anything from you since you joined in and an opening post in 2014.

Don't take the comments too much to heart. The forum loves banter almost as much as the owners their Zeds and in fairness as good as the cars you offer may be, you do wax lyrical about them :)

Keep coming here and posting

ZedFourM - The Coupe in question is being sold on a SOR basis from Z4-forum member. So YES, if the next owner wants to extend the policy which is continuing to be paid for per month until the new keeper decides what they would like to do.

Regarding warranty and dealers. A new car warranty say up to 3 years still runs even when being sold by a different motor trader, the clause is they cannot put in a warranty claim, only the registered keeper on the logbook can and not in title of care via the yellow section.

Thanks Steve, my phone is always on for when you are ready to get back into ownership again.

In which case, your advertisement on PistonHeads is disingenuous in the extreme - and quite possibly illegal - as it gives every indication that this is a trade sale (and so would give the purchaser the full protection of the law) and not a private one (which would provide the buyer with absolutely no protection whatsoever).

This is totally and utterly irrelevant. We are not talking about a new car here, and nor are we talking about an AUC car (each of which have their own terms and condition).

We are talking here about BMW's Insured Warranty, which is an insurance backed warranty and which has an explicit condition (it will be No. 5 under "Terms and Conditions" in your warranty booklet - also available online, in case you've lost the booklet, at
https://www.allianz-assistance.co.uk/images/UK_policy_BMWCarwarranty_04.16.pdf:

"For annual policies only and provided that a refund has not been claimed, any balance of your BMW Insured Warranty remaining may be transferred to another private owner, subject to our approval, who buys your vehicle from you but not to a buyer engaged in the business of purchasing, selling or servicing motor vehicles. Monthly Policies are not transferable. BMW Insured Warranty cover is not transferable to you from a Motor retailer"

So in my personal opinion, the answer to the question posed in the title of this thread is a resounding "yes", and I would certainly never contemplate purchasing a vehicle from you.

Thank you for pointing this out, I was unaware of the stipulation of the monthly payment policy. The advert shall be edited accordingly.

However, I stand by the cars being sold by me and have no issue in this being a SOR sale. The buyer has all the protection of a trade sale when buying a vehicle on a SOR basis, unless discussed and declared otherwise.
