Initialise
Function
The initialisation process pairs the key fob transmitters with the basic module. During initialisation, a code is generated in the key fob transmitter and sent to the basic module. That code is stored on the radio-operated key and the basic module. The basic module uses that code to identify the radio-operated keys that belong to the system. Only from those radio-operated keys are commands executed.
A maximum of 4 radio-operated keys per vehicle can be initialised. If a radio-operated key is re-initialised, the codes of the other radio-operated keys are deleted. In other words, all the radio-operated keys of a system have to be initialised at the same time.
Procedure of initialisation
Initialisation of the radio-operated keys has to be carried out in the vehicle interior.
- Get in the vehicle and close the driver's door and front passenger door.
- Lock and unlock the vehicle via the central locking button.
- Briefly (within 5 seconds max.) switch Terminal R on and off on the vehicle. => The system is ready for initialisation.
- On the key fob transmitter, press and hold the "Unlock" button.
- Point the key fob transmitter towards the aerial and within 10 seconds, while keeping the "Unlock" button pressed, press the "Lock" button three times. => A new code is generated in the radio-operated key.
- Release both buttons. => The basic module indicates that key initialisation has been successfully completed by locking and unlocking the central locking system.
To initialise more radio-operated keys, repeat the procedure from step 3 (= hold down "Unlock" button on the radio-operated key). The status of Terminal R must not be changed.
Switching on Terminal R causes the initialisation process to be aborted.
Note
A non voltage-dependent memory in the key fob transmitter ensures that the initialisation data is not lost even if the standard battery or rechargeable battery is completely discharged.
