Hi all just finished my airbox install, love the look, and
sounds amazing!
All went pretty straight forward really (had to do a slight
mod to the snorkel part.
Used a plug and play wiring loom from auto3design (thanks Jamie)
Booked in for remap and dyno with trs performance at the
end of April, just have to be patient now :D.
Considering selling my Gruppe M intake that I removed, just
wondering what sort of money 1 should let it go for?
(£30 of the sale i will give to the forum fund)

Does your airbox snorkel foul on the chassis leg or can you make use of the lower air feed? Most have the race style airbox on z4ms

Not the race box, but it will be very unique…

I have OE CSL connecting pipes for the lower intake of the Box

You can see there is a stud that puts the lower connecting support right where it needs to be

As if BMW wanted to do it

Very nice  I've purchased the air scoop from Burkhart Engineering, had to cut the karbonius a little to clear the front, also fitted the genuine Csl iat sensor.

^^^ it fits well and points to the opening. I also have the carbon scoop and is a nice touch and much bigger than eventuri or RPI

I did the same minus the carbon scoop, kept the red eventuri one as it matches the car. I think the karbonius race is about the perfect fit on the zed, basically full cold air feed, I've never had a heat soak issue in traffic or on track

Where did you direct the lower intake - is it collecting air from under the car? Are you tempted to cut an aperture in the lower part of the front bumper? I’m using this for brake cooling, but you could do something similar for the lower intake:

That is exactly what I want to do, but hacking the NLA trims make me hesitant. Right now it just point low down next to the steering fluid pump.

The two paths are as you described above, or rout it car left to the bumper intake for cooling the brakes.

I cut my bumper inserts ten years ago when replacements were readily available, so I wasn’t hesitant at all :D
