I assume that the rope is for moving the mirror up and down when pressing the button?

I think it's a safety feature with mirrors being knocked off being so common. Would be dangerous to allow them to fly off lol.

Correct. Stops the mirror housing flying off. the early zeds didn't have it. You can just unhook it iirc.

It certainly is! Not plugged in the wiring yet as it was dark when I got home but apparently it should still fold as before! I've attached it back to the car! Just need to get the door card off and plug it in!

It's only the driver side that has water damage, I'm due to get some new angel eyes at the beginning of December, and I've bought a second hand plug that im going to wire in! Which should sort it hopefully

yeah he seems to have done a great job, i am yet to plug the electrics back in and see if the mirror actually moves yet but hopefully it will be fine.
