for the moment you can just cut the cable as a new one is included in the kit.

there is a door card removal guide on here.I think it mighty be under cjs write up on his door lighting project.it is pretty simple.

Think I have the remains of my old one and a spare unprimed shell of you want any thing.

Hmm, im now thinking about stripping the mirror down and getting some of this on it?

does anyone know if its able to be stripped down enough to do this?

Dont think that will be strong enough, especially with the pressure applied opening and closing... maybe easier trying to get it welded first, and if that fails then fork out the money.

from what ive been told it should be more than strong enough, its like almost liquid metal, so my engineer dad says anyway.

no im going to try at the weekend i think, although i may have to wait till i can get some trim removal tools. the guide looks fairly simple tbh! hmm i may tale you up on the shell, all depends if the old one can be fixed i suppose! if it cant then i guess ill be buying the non electric folding one ive been offered from a forum member. just going to be a bit daft having one auto folding and one not lol

its only a very small dent and the mark will polish out!

Hi mate, looking at the picture it appears a clean break.
I had the same problem when I was using my friends Gallardo, parked it up, didn't fold the mirrors and came back 20 minutes later to find very similar looking damage. (it had electric folding mirrors)
I took it to a local body shop guy with a good reputation who removed the mirror and welded it with some kind of epoxy resin or chemical metal.
He charged me 50 pounds and it worked fine for another 10 months until the car was sold.
If you haven't already ruled a repair out I would try a body shop.

just gave him a call, he says he can do it, although he said a new mirror would be better as its not permanent. this may however be the best choice for now. going to see if i can nip down on friday

I would let him have a go and it will be much cheaper than a new one, it will give you time to locate a reasonably priced electric one. The repair he did for me lasted 11 months and was still good when the car was sold.
I am going down on Friday to collect my interior parts so may bump into you there.

great thanks! ive got a garage opposite where i work taking a look tomorrow morning, this would obviously be much easier for me than driving half an hour to drop my car off with no way of getting back lol. so if my local guy cant do anything i may very well see you!

i know buddy, i may still be taking you up on your offer, going to have the mirror removed and take it to the place mentioned by Z4MO.

It is all pretty simple.

You don't have to do door card of either.

Take the mirror off.

You'll be amble to see a bunch of torch screws.

Unscrew.

Unplug wiring harness.

Unbolt from behind tweeter.

Feed cable through body

Done

Curl cable up and leave on outside of car
