Just dyno'd he old girl

This is an old but quite interesting thread from old schooler, PawnSacrifice, OP.

I'm going to bang on again at the end of the summer pre supercharger build on a different dyno, either way it's way above stock for a 20 year old car and the dyno have come on a lot in recent years compensating for temps, wheel sizes bla bla. Not that it matters but some people might find it interesting. I was happy, thanks to everyone that didn't just put a complete downer on the whole thing, wish I'd never posted now. It's summer fun people, what we love to do play with our toys in the sunshine and chat about stuff. Although I can take the nasty comments, I'm a big boy and doesn't bother me whatsoever. I would hardly be showing off about a car with 210bhp in this day and age where a city car could probably do better figures, was more about the impressiveness of how old she is l, how good she sounded and hats off to the m54 for being so strong at 122k miles and 20 years old. Over and out for this post I think. Haha

I guess I'll just have to take the £4000 Z to an f1 wind tunnel next time and run on one of their dynos 3 times pre map and times afterwards. But then again, I might need to use Mercedes and Mclarens setups as well otherwise won't be true reading. #mybad

Now that's an idea! Would love to see someone with cash to splash to do a monster sleeper build.

That's my old Z4 folks! Remember? I sold it to Zoid lol

And the reason it's pulling 210 is because it's got a banging baking tray heat shield, and someone boosted the cats off it so it's now a full straight pipe.

At the moment I have a B207R stage 1 Saab Aero I mapped with trionic suite. Should make 260hp on the airmass prediction, but it was heat soaking on the day and only made 245hp on the same dyno we're all arguing about.

Point is I can't gain on the Z4 on the dual carriageway, we've been out for a full day doing roll races etc. Yes I am carrying more weight, but that thing moves for sure. 210hp doesn't sound unrealistic and I was there when the guy did 7 pulls. I think the straight pipe + tune + intake with cold ram-air must have made some ponies.

But anyway, we were actually there for the laughs and the louds. Hope you've all stopped bum fighting or I'll post my dyno sheet too and join in the brawl

Let's just hope you don't get told that the sound recorded from a phone then transferred over to this kind of platform means that in reality your car will sound like a 1 litre mini metro with triple silencers welded on so it can rev to the redline and not wake sleeping babies within 1 foot of it.....
