OH.....MY.....GOD!!!!!

now have no foam at all and i cant get rid of the smile on my face!!! sounds like two African Rhinos mating!! i didnt even need any toold just pulled the tube off! took 30 seconds!

Apologies if it's obvious - but what's a sound generator mod? I did a search so to not look stupid but it didn't bring anything up. Can you educate me - anything which makes the great noise even louder sounds great.

Removed mine about a month ago after finding the how-to guide, still love it. Certainly not putting either bit back in any time soon. :driving:

It's the best smile you can get for £0 and less than 2mins of your time

Some folks will spend hundreds on induction kits to get a noise that wont even come close... You gotta love it 8)

Im on the verge of sticking mine back in. Short blasts are great but at a steady motorway speed it does get tiring :-?

Usually yes. A small amount of oil usage isnt unusual on the M54 engine

Two bits out at more than 6,000 RPM made my ears bleed

However, I put the cabin side back in and left out the denser engine side and new it is almost perfect. Might cut the cabin side down a bit

I did this mod, 15 seconds and no tools make this a no brainer to do. Removed the foam from the bulkhead side and the sound is perfect, and anyone who hasn't tried it, do it

6k is enough for me. Max power is at 5,800 if my memory serves me correct. How high do you guys rev yours?

When I'm really hooning, I change just before the limiter. So, 7k. I'm normally looking at the road though and not at the dash. I regularly test the 0-60 speeds and get the girl working. She loves it

I'm maybe being naive here, but my redline starts at 6,500, and although I enjoy a spirited drive, I don't like to thrash cars. You reckon 7,000 before shifting is ok? Take the limiter kicks in at 7k?

On a 5 mile round trip to the shops, probably not that high.

On a blast round the b-roads all the way up to the limiter if I don't change in time :P - certainly up to the red anyway. It's surely what these engines are designed for, do it you'll love it. Max power maybe be at 5800, but I'm going to beat you in a drag race if you change that early...

Hmm, experiment coming at the weekend me thinks. Or perhaps I'll take the zed to work on Wednesday... just for the hell of it
