Just bought a e86 Z4

Hi all, new to the forum but not modifying cars and BMW's.

Since selling my track spec M3, I've been looking for a car that gives the same sort off feeling without the crazy V8 running costs that I can use on track. After short sints in a Mini Cooper S and an Astra VXR J (don't ask) I decided to look for a Z4.

2 weeks ago this was advertised and I bought it without viewing it whilst heading off on holiday. Looks like its been owned by a couple of members on here including @jamiez4c

The plans are to have it checked over by my trusted local specialist and then get it setup for trackdays.

Got it home last night so I've only had chance to 1 stage polish it as it looked like it hadn't been polished for a very long time.

It was a Vauxhall No, in all seriousness it was a good road car with adjustable suspension and factory plated LSD, but on track it struggled and even after a full brake upgrade I still lost all braking at two separate trackdays in 4 laps due to terrible cooling. Proper pedal to the floor no retardation and nothing for 30 minutes.

Yeah< I've just seen it was advertised on here, didn't buy it from him though, it must have been the guy he sold it to.

Welcome to Z4 ownership - yours looks great too.

Your M3 looks pretty mean as well!

Quite a few people run threads on upgrades, etc. and they can help out others.

You bought it from me Damien and it's been on the forum for the past 10 years - I bought it from Jamie but most of the work was done by Roundozo.

Started the process of understanding what I have bought and will start a thread in the E86 section of the forum. Defo needs some parts replacing ASAP and there seems to be quite a lot of oil being lost but it is what it is. Nothing I can't handle I don't think
