Joyriders in my Zed

Other option is to contact the local press, and see if they will publish the story.

Perhaps give the garage first refusal on exclusivity for the story, priced at £1000. ;)

The police frown on blackmail, i probably wouldn’t do that :o

Honestly, after seeing that video, I would just forward it to the police.

I heard one of them asking if it was mapped sounds like you may have been talking to them about the car and they thought they would try it out

Local press or police, you can’t let someone get away with that, it’s about trust and they just gave you the finger
Did think that the local press would be a great option till I viewed the video. Jesus if that was my car the Police would be the only option.

Posting the video on YouTube may backfire. Mind the saying: 'Never wrestle with a pig. You both get dirty and the pig likes it.'

After watching that clip I'd be f*****g furious

I think I'd give the footage to the boys in blue and maybe tell the boss that I had.

I certainly wouldn't ever be going there again!

Heres a link to the first few minutes.
Note the comments like 'f**k this car' etc etc

That is totally unacceptable :x . I'd be jumping if it was my motor. I'd go to the police and ask them what you should do. You put your trust in a company and they have a duty of care. That is just reckless and disrespectful. At the least you should ask for a full refund on your repair :censored:

Wankers, I’d send that straight to the police.

Any evidence who was driving as the police might be keen to have a chat about the speed.

Also ragged from cold so who knows if any damage has been done

I’d get that submitted to BIB as soon as possible. Don’t go interacting with the garage or asking for compensation - that just makes you almost as bad as them IMO and no amount of cash (that you could reasonably expect to receive) is going to change what happened.

Submit the footage to the police and see if anything comes of it; if nothing the go the shame-via-social-media route.

And if any mechanical issues come up in the near future that can be directly attributed to this, go for them via small claims court.

Ahhh man  that is like my worst nightmare , i would be bouncing off the ceiling .
The problem is can you really be bothered to go to any great lengths in order to feel better about it .
Getting the £200 back wouldn't satisfy me :( & asking the police would only split my kipper even more as they are likely to show zero interest .
Is the garage purely paintshop or offer other services too ?
Yep paint/bodywork only - on reflection they must be insured as cars for work are parked on a public space and any accidents like fire in the workshop would need to be covered. Some business insurance is mandatory I do know...

I would suspect that their insurance doesn't cover joyriding customers cars and therefore would be invalid for that use.

If nothing else, make sure you don't lose the footage.
When the letter with the speed camera photo drops on your mat you'll need to be able to prove it wasn't you.
Pre-empt that though. Get to the nick now!

Let's hope you don't also get three points for speeding, crashing red lights - or worse.

You should go to the police about this without delay.

Completely understand your anger and disgust over this incident. Decide what you want from this situation and then deal with it, fairly quickly. In your shoes I’d have already been to the workshop speaking to the manager. His/Her response would determine what happens next.

I’ve just read the original post again

“ (one was the boss) ragging my”

I don’t think customer care will be high on his list of priorities somehow!

From what I understand, he currently has no idea he has a serious problem on his hands. There might well be a different attitude once he’s aware of the situation and the potential damage to his business and reputation.

What ifs, buts and maybes are irrelevant, action and talking are the way to a likely satisfactory outcome.

And sooner rather than later!

I wonder what he would choose if he was given 2 options
1. Hand the vid evidence to the police or
2. Post the vid all over the net slating his business
??
