Your opinion says "Archaic", many others believe he says what lots of people want to, but noone else dare to. I hate all this political correctness and therefore the sooner this dinosaur is back on the TV the better.
I used to enjoy listening to his opinions and reviews.
Now he's just a complete and utter tool playing up to the masses.

I was at the filming of the recent Australian episode (which was hilarious more for what wasn't on screen than what was) and when the studio lights dimmed for the first bit of film Clarkson went to the back where the producers and editors were doing their bit, lit up a fag in the non-smoking studio and puffed away. I'm sure at least 1 of the other 7 ppl sitting there smoked but nobody else lit up.
They haven't cancelled any of the ticketed live shows so this is just a bit of posturing by the BBC to show him who's boss and he knows it so he'll (pretend) to eat some humble pie when called into the inevitable review meeting and then the cancelled episodes will aired the Sundays following that.

Chris Evans gets my vote also, Clarkson would be forgotten instantly. Jay Kay would be brilliant and maybe a female presenter.
Just thinking of that makes you realise how stale the puppets Hammond and 'the other one' are. Was a fan but it's now old hat. Finished.

Some great stats there though that demonstrate the programme is likely going nowhere. It is one of the single biggest earners on the Beeb's books. In a world of mass media and shrinking revenues that's not to be tossed aside lightly.
