I hope the prat gets the bullet.Top gear needs some new talent ,as it is now it should be renamed ,The Three Idiots

Don`t agree, i think the show is fine just the way it is, meets the needs of the masses....lol.

Idiots they may be, but i wouldn`t mind that kind of fun and be a millionaire to boot. :withstupid:

In all seriousness, the Radio Times site reckons he punched a producer :o

It wouldn't spoil the rest of my life if they did sack him. The whole show needs some new ideas and new face(s).

BBC news story...........Is it a news item? Probably not but then thats BBC news with their 'agenda's'
Good advert for top gear though ......shock indignation etc.. at some point people will get bored as they are doing.
I agree new ideas and new faces please.

Getting sacked from BBC didn't do Jonathon Ross any harm.

I'm sure we will see Jezza doing his stuff on ITV or Sky if aunty boots him.

Doesnt he "own" top gear ??

I thought that too

Nope, he sold his rights to the show to the BBC for £13m a few years back. As he's worth around £30M at last estimates, sacking him will only affect the resale value for the series, so can't see it happening... if it did, he would move to ITV, make a shed load more money, and the BBC wold lose out.

It appears that it's not just next Sunday's Top Gear that's affected, on last night's BBC news they said that none of the remaining programs in the series will be aired

Got to say I am getting bored with the format and I suspect the program has run its course. Having said that I cannot see the BBC trashing one of their most successful shows which is "exported" to numerous countries. I would also say I like Clarkson's irreverent style and I often feel his refreshing non pc approach chimes with me and I suspect many others. I'll be sorry to see him go if only for that reason but I'll not miss the program and besides I can watch it on Dave (or whatever it is called nowadays) for at least the next 10 years.

Straight to DVD for more £'s then, and stuff everyone expecting that the BBC would show it for free ?

A punch over lack of BBC food - that can't be right? Surely you would throw a punch if you were forced to eat BBC canteen food? If it's correct then the Producer had it coming!

May and Hammond make loads from other BBC series. They will soon see that their livelihood is at risk through association and will consider their options carefully. Responding like they did to Clarksons tweet will not have done them any favours. The production company will have invested hundreds of thousands on the unaired program's. The BBC probably has some exposure to those costs. The BBC don't mess around doing publicity stunts like this - they are serious and committed. JC is out and won't be back.
Who ever owns the rights will today be looking at the options to re formulate the show. It attracts viewers not just because of Clarkson but also because the content and superb cinematography. The show itself has recently become formulaic and completely scripted and needs a change anyway despite it being compelling viewing.

This is now a corporate issue. The Beeb will whisper one word in the ear of the production company who will then go away and do what they have to to keep their show or some form of it on the BBC which is their best channel to a worldwide market. That word is Saville. The BBC will not be bullied by one individual no matter how much money or viewers are involved.

The Jonathan Ross issue was about an individual. This is different.

This isn't just about Clarkson now. It is about business. Big business!

Exactly that, he says what a lot of people think (but we are not "allowed" to think that). Bit like UKIP in some areas, hence attracting a lot of people.

Can you imagine it going to ITV!!! With adverts!!!

Look at the bodge up ITV did with F1!!

I'd rather see it go to Channel 4!!
