JayEmm new E85 video

I watched it not the Z4 video you expect he says the 4 pot is the wise choice and goes on about some tyre brand I never heard of…

Watched, sadly it did feel like the video was created for the tire sponsorship and somehow finding a story to make it fit. (n)

I like JayEmm, he talks normal, not inflated or trying to be controversial or over expressionate, I met him last year, nice guy, obviously had good success and making YouTube work. Good on him.

His videos have great information with a huge amount of background research, but they pretty much all follow the same format; Intro, sponsor, background, annoying 'lets see what it can do' section, then conclusion.
I much prefer the few videos when the car is mostly stationary, rather than a full 20 mins of an in-car camera at his face with a few drive bys. Anyway, that's just personal taste.
His videos about the car markets, brands, or their sales tactics are excellent, and especially enjoyed the one about Jaecoo which pretty much threw Jonny Smith from Late Brake Show under the bus (intentionally?), brilliant.

@Pondy Trust fund comment a little harsh ?
If you like.
Maybe it's my age but there seem to be too many people trying to make a living by doing nothing useful in this world. Probably why no-one can get trainee mechanics, bricklayers or plumbers anymore.
Someone I know is a secondary school teacher and they did a 'survey' of their 15 year old kids about what they want to do for a living. Apparently over 80% of them said "influencer" or "youtuber". I find that worrying and sad in equal measure.

Watch the odd review he does, he’s knowledgeable about the car industry for sure, but I can give or take his reviews. What is bloody annoying is he’s started to pronounce every single letter in a word, nothing wrong with speaking correctly, all for it, but so over emphasises it it’s borderline weird.

Yes that is bloody annoying 👊 to the point I sometimes give up watching. Plus I didn't like the way he crapped the 2.2 for a four pot.

He did a review of the 35is, headline was is it better than an M, which he’s had.

That’s like comparing eggs with milk, both in the same sort of group, but so far apart there’s no comparison, just money making fodder with no real sense to it.

Speaks like he’s giving a presentation to a group of primary school children!

I wouldn’t swap my 2.2 for a 4 pot, l’d miss the amazing sound it makes, plus I like lifting the bonnet and looking at the engine. Yes, that does sound a bit weird. :driving:

I got fed up with it before I got half-way.

Diction is painful, it's mostly a tyre advert (why not just but Hankooks anyway) and who really chooses a 4 pot over a 6?

He's no better than Schmee - which isn't a compliment!

I have a good friend who watches a LOT of youtube car videos. He watches them purely for entertainment, which is what I see the problem being.
Internet 'content providers', car ones in this instance, make content for 'views' and any other money-making angle they can (hence the tyre promotion).
They are not doing it for any other reason than to make money, which I find disgusting.

Harry Metcalfe is the ONLY car internet content provider I can watch, as he doesn't need the money and has a track record of knowing what he is talking about.

The world is full of internet self-proclaimed 'experts' these days who have no qualifications whatsoever on the subject matter. Likes and views don't mean knowledge IMHO. The world in general seems to think it does these days. Again, I find that extremely worrying.
We even have one on here!
