Jamie's Monaco blue coupe

Just been and corrected one side of the car. Felt it was pointless doing the rest as the OS is going in for paint along with the boot lid so just did the NS for now.

+1 - yeah I was wondering that... mine has no drain holes in the rear bird bat... I mean hatch. :)

Here you go - one on the other side too. I'm sure yours must have these?

 
Coming together nicely Jamie - I've got a Das Pro 6 which has been sat in the garage all summer and not had the time or opportunity to try it out - I might tap you up for a tutorial!

Ah yes, thanks pilot, mine does have those. Didn't realise they were drain holes though. Do they need any special attention? Cheers

Great piece of kit! I picked up a 6+ over the summer and have had great results with it!

Not sure to be honest, beyond sticking something in there to make sure they're not blocked up? I'm assuming that if BMW honour the bodywork warranty to sort Jamie's out, it will because the tailgate is rusting from the inside - which means water must be pooling inside the tailgate. Either the drains are blocked or are poorly placed and so leave water sat in there. Jamie - how does your rubber seal around the glass look? Any chance water is getting under there and past the mastic, or could it be getting in where the hinges bolt onto the top edge? Would be worth asking the BMW tech's where they think it's coming from.
 
Got to love a good machine polisher! Where are you based z4 pilot? Might be easier to show you in person!

Ref to the seal it looks in perfect condition no weathering - no leaks in it as far as I can see, as I have a fully functioning bird bath :)

Lytham, so not too far from you I think? We moved house earlier this year, so the garage is still clogged up with crap and the car has been pushed down the priority list - hoping to lavish a bit of TLC on it as soon as I can clear some space! :roll:

The exhaust tips were doing my head in, I had cleaned them up best I could with scotch brite but they were just too far gone

So put the old remote control car Ariel to good use





 
Jamie, that is one fantastic looking Coupe! :thumbsup:

Lovely colour combination and while it has been noted you have heated seats and cruise you also seem to have pdc and the multi-function steering wheel.

Great spec I would say (but then mine is flimper) and sat-nav of that age is never going to be cutting edge anyway!

Although my birdbath is always full I will be checking my tailgate drainage tomorrow - hope you get your tailgate sorted OK.

Shame you are so far away, but I do visit Cheshire 3 or 4 times a year...... :D
