Jamie's Monaco blue coupe

Feeling sorry for herself on the winters off Mrs's 1 series - awaiting a present from Mr Wilks :)

Also whilst underneath I discovered these which is a nice suprise & saves me a job :)

I'm getting a bit pissed off with bowker Blackburn

Took the car to them last Monday for a rust claim on the boot lid, rear & front OS Wings, they took it in the workshop after washing it (Ffs) then took ages to take a few pics of it, told they'd speak to Bmw and that's that, fair enough.

Then on Wednesday I had to scan & send in my service history, no problem.

Now today - they apparently didn't take good enough pics of the rust spots on the wings, so got to take it in tomorrow, I just said - can't I leave it with you & you give me a courtesy car & I'll collect it when it's done? Oh no sir, we've no courtesy cars for two weeks....

so even if they can repair it, I'm still gonna have to wait 3 weeks before they can sort it! Pain in the arse this rust!

Customer service really is going down the pan in dealerships. That amount of time sounds about right, from the day I took it in for them to look at it and got it back was 7 weeks!

Will they not allow you to take photos and email them in?
Why did they clean it?

Ah that's fair enough - just a bit of a ball ache having to take it in again, just to take it back again when they want to paint it

Yeah I asked if I could take the pics but apparently the body shop man is coming down to have a look at it

I'm awaiting a decision on a new bootlid too although they said they would replace it as it's the only way to ensure the rust is all gone given that it's come from within.

They seem to be trying to wriggle out of it though as it doesn't have a full marked service history. My argument is that it went through a BMW dealer's hands last year when the previous owner bought it but nothing was reported.

Is it non Bmw dealer or just some of it missing?

It can be serviced at any garage as long as they are vAT registered as mines been serviced at a few different non Bmw garages.

no, he said they'd just dress the rust out & paint it

I would argue that the rust could quite easily reoccur and as the post below yours said the only way to be sure is to replace. If it does come back they'll end up having to do it again and more cost.

When went in for rust treatment on my tailgate the beginning of this year all they did was treat the rust then paint. Low and behold it came through again in one area. Took it back to complain, they took it back and did exactly the same again. I know mines had a new passenger's door and bonnet but surely they can replace the original tailgate for a new one. If it appears again I will push for a new one and not give up so easily.

will ask them tonight AVD / CSL - see what they say.
