Jamie's Monaco blue coupe

Well worth it mate. All it cost me was time patience & a tiny bit of primer & satin black paint

Re fitted

definitely.. looks great buddy.... and i have primer and satin black in the garage from some old bike jobs so will cost me nowt.. how easy is it to remove the trims?

Thanks guys!

Mr T- people say you need to remove the air bag to do it properly but I think with an ounce of common sense applied it's really not that difficult. 2x torx screws for the bottom piece & one for each side, they sort of unclip outwards from the middle!

Kept seeing this thread getting bumped and had just assumed it was an old one since you just bought a 2.5i!

Very nice... like others have said, there can't be many non-M coupes in this colour combo. Leather look very shiny though - have they had a spray? If not, maybe a bit of Gliptone love is in order?

Are you going to keep the MV2s? I think they look pretty smart.

Thanks my man! Indeed the pic I put up was when I had just put the gliptone cleaner on & then wiped with a wet cloth, so yeah they look very shiny! they're very Matt like in the flesh though :)

Think I am mate, I want to keep this car as OEM as possible, was tempted with the style 108s - but it'll deviate from the original spec list plus I don't know if it'll suit the colour? What would you do? 108s or have the mv2 powder coated? the dealer has 'refurbed' them but this is them behind

If the wheels are painted or coated black, is it possible to get them restored to original condition?

I just put a deposit on a coupe with these wheels and would like to maybe do the wheels gloss black, but only if they can be restored to original condition as I'm sure keeping it all stock will be better if / when it comes to selling it on.

Only if you use something like plasti dip which can be peeled off if you wish, to get a proper gloss black finish though they would need to be painted, though I'm sure once you come to sell you can have them painted again in silver :)

Embarrassed I even asked now. :P

I would keep them and get them refurbed (this is what I did). If you don't like them, sell up; if you do, keep them on the car until you get bored. Then switch them to winters and buy some nice new boots. 19" with higher profile rubber seems to be the flavour of the day, although ARC-8 18" look pretty badass.

Oh... and line up your centre caps properly. :poke:

Now that's a pretty car.
I do however , have a formula for you to consider...
Monaco blue + champagne interior = VMR 710 wheels in anthracite.

Wonder whether your LHS drain hole is bunged up at all or if your car has been parked on a gradient earlier in it's life, causing water to pool beyond the drain?

the coupe has a drain plug?

Cheers pal, I know they look awesome modified but want to retain its future value with keeping it period :)

It's a bit tedious being off work but I guess I've got a few jobs done on the z.

I've just had the seats up in highest position & hoovered underneath, used autoglym interior shampoo & brushed all carpets & did the seats again with gliptone, finally polished the piano black trim with my rotary & some meguiars cut compound

It certainly has a couple of open holes (no bungs) each side of the tailgate, just inboard from where Jamie's is rusting - if for some reason there's crap inside the cavity, it might stop water that's got in there from draining away properly? Mine are not obstructed at all, and I don't as yet (touch wood) have any rust - just wondered if Jamie's were blocked at all and if that might be a reason for the rust forming? I can't really see why under normal circumstances that water should be getting inside the tailgate cavity anyway, but in Jamie's case it must be, somehow...

+1 - yeah I was wondering that... mine has no drain holes in the rear bird bat... I mean hatch. :)

Jamie, you are a bad influence for us 2.5 owners mate! :D

The more I look at these coupes the more I like how they look. Yours has a wonderful color combination too. I am slightly envious!
I started finding myself checking coupes every now and then... This surely can't be healthy for my wallet in the long run.

Haha sorry mate! I know what you mean though my heart just wasn't in the roaster, coming from a 330ci 3 series it just felt gutless :( and if I'm honest I always wanted a coupe; so just threw caution to the wind & extended my bank loan
