Jamie's 3rd Z4! - Sold.

Yes Iv heard the run flats ruin the ride quality I was lucky the previous owner replaced them with normal tyres just a shame he bought some brand I can't even pronounce!! :-/ but once the 108's have been refurbed I will quickly be getting some premium tyres for them.

Keep up the good work.

Paul

I'm the same. Some days I look at the 108s and think nah not for me, time for a change but like you said my opinion quickly changes!

What products are you using Jamie?

I've just gave it a clay with a G3 clay mitt (first time using) then machined with meguiars ultimate compound on a hexlogic pad, quick layer of meguiars ultimate finishing polish then a layer of the old faithful HD (AG) over the top, need to re-do it again with the halogen lamps to get rid of some swirls but gonna get my holiday out the way first :)

I've not used a clay mitt, I like the personal feel (sounds wrong) of using a clay bar but I've heard great things about them. Take a look at these sites cleanyourcar and slimsdetailing for a vast array of products.

You'll have to get some photos of the car once you've come back from your holiday

Yea I know what you mean mate but you can actually feel the contaminants being removed with the mitt also! I'm a frequent customer of Tim at clean your car! I won the car of the month comp last year with my old 3 series :)

What's your favourite products for this colour?

Im sure i replied to this....obviously not.

Tim is a great guy, its not too far from me so I always collect my orders, you can't beat that personal experience.

A combination of a layer of Auto Finesse Desire topped off with a layer of Illusion is great for protection and that deep glossy wet look.

Mint Rims on the 108's make them pop as well

Have you got a journal going for yours yet Paul?

No not yet but I will do one once it comes back from the body shop, it's been an exspensive month after having the new hardtop resprayed in sterling silver and now currently getting the complete newAero kit sprayed and fitted which should be done by next weekend fingers crossed, I will put up some pics when I get it back.

What I'm trying to achieve with mine is mod it but only using OM parts if I can so the Zed will be a sort of OEM++++++

The stubby arial is also on my list of mods

Give it another proper go with the rotary today with a new hexlogic pad & some meguiars

Give th engine bay another quick detail, I dunno if anyone else seen but I made a thread saying it smelled of coolant, miraculously afte giving it a good scrub using TFR & WD40 it doesn't smell of coolant no more :D

Then working with what I've got here, wet sanded the exhaust tips to as best as I can

Wil do till I can get the Bmw tips!

Got these though but gonna wait till I've got my hid kit through till I fit them as I have to take wheel off ideally

Oh and the aUx cable doesn't work on my car so if anyone wants it for a few quid let me know!

I bought a iPod connector that plugs into the back of the headunit rather than a Aux cable (guessing you have an iPod or iPhone), much better functionality.

Is your car parked up at home as I now need a new near side front wing after having a argument with another car so you may find yours will be missing.

Car is looking good especially the pipes. Maybe use a little less polish though, you only need 3-4 pea size amounts

Cheers Neil!

Yeah mate I ended up just buying a new fascia plate & a Sony Bluetooth head unit in the end, no wires at all then!

Haha yea it is all tucked up at home but fortunately you don't know where I live :D

I know yeah I always get a bit over zealous with the polish

Thanks, I'm pleased how well the tips came up from how bad they were!

Hi guys, after a nice little break in Corfu I'm back reunited with my beloved zed! I bought a memo I at the airport - I just had to have it!

Then back to reality today, installed a Sony single din Bluetooth head unit after Not much success with the aux lead! But so glad I did as the sound quality has improved 100 fold, it's so much more functional with the Bluetooth - ok it doesn't look as pretty as the OEM unit, however serves the purpose very well & has red illumination

Next up is the HID kit installation & silvatec bulbs :)
