Am I the only one waiting out to see what Tag and Google produce? :(

I'd consider a second gen Apple watch though...once all the improvements are made to the inevitable issues of the 1st gen product.

like the s**t battery life for one. ill just continue to do old fashioned things like look at the watch that is 12yrs old, been ran over by a 40T truck, and still tells the time correct and talk into my phone. i dont even think they look very good or stylish.

I'm hoping that apple with do a deal with Tag/Rolex/brietling/panarai to provide branded custom faces, if not then hopefully someone will develop an app for it.

The battery life isn't the deal breaker for me. Just the fact that a few of Apple's 1st gen products haven't been as good as their successors that I'm not ready to pony up a £1000 for one in the spec I want to find it be outdated in 12 months time.

Plus for that I could have another Tag that would be quite happy being used for daily duties.

this may help...... :D

the cost did make me laugh a bit i must admit. my initial thought was base model at 300 odd quid = pretty nice watch or if your not bothered about names etc then lots of the £50 argos bling ones :D ...... £1000 would be better spent on 4/5 of a gearbox for my westy i think.

Much as I love tech and the concept of the iWatch making wearable tech a standard rather than a quaint moment in 21st century tech fashion history, I saw a guy at work wearing an iWatch today and my first thought was 'predictable Apple tw@t'

Seriously not meaning to offend anyone here, just wanted to say what my first thoughts were as it was telling to me how much more work needs to be done before I accept this as an option that's usable/relevant/life enriching.

For now I'll stick with the clockwork device I currently wear.

If we we're being honest, all watches are merely jewelry, and if you were being philosphical about it they are never going to be seen as "usable/relevant/life enriching", you could probably get by without a watch at all, there's clocks everywhere and you could always ask the person next to you, that little bit of human interaction would probably be much more enriching...

The 50 year old Rolex I inherited from my Dad still does the same job it always did.

My first mobile phone hasn't lasted so well

The iWatch looks like it will be a 2 year investment if you intend using it - although it's probably not a bad Idea to buy a couple and put them in the loft for 20 years :)

Like I say, not meanings to offend anyone. My point was more around a device such as this and it's purpose. Which is to be usable (of course), relevant (for for purpose) and life enriching (enabling a better life or at least way of managing that life). Don't think I was directly comparing it to a standard watch, but if that was misunderstood then apologies. Am sure I'm missing out hugely but thought it useful to reference my thoughts.

Incidentally I thought the same when the iPad came out and I've got three of those now so what do I know right?!

No worries, no offence taken and this is a forum afterall.
...I'm sure this would make a much more entertaining discussion in a pub, bundle it in with the pc vs mac, roadie vs coupe, marge vs butter chat :)
