I've realised I'm getting old...what to do (regarding cars)?

Would take a C63 from the same year over it tho.
Of course you would (in fact you did)
I showed it to 'er indoors. She said "it's a pretty car but it's orange". I said "I know, isn't it beautiful". She said "No it's chavvy. Another car you will like for 5 minutes. And don't expect me to drive it". So another win

They can be remapped to 679hp and nearly 850Nm of torque for £300. Not sure if the DCT can take that.

Could be fun on the roads where you live.
I am thinking of all the 20 something, leggy Polish women that I could attract
Their boyfriends all drive old Passats and knackered A3s :D

Lol that's to much power that.

I can't believe I didn't look at them when I was looking.

Definitely get a well looked after V8 if only for a year and cherish every mile you drive.

(And pray that nothing breaks)

hi,

my neighbour has just bought something that fits your criteria exactly.

a 2014 Audi S5 Convertible 3.0 supercharged V6 333bhp it sounds nice - you can map them to 400bhp and he paid £16500 for it and its only done 43,000 miles with FSH - not sure if its your bag but has quattro etc it handles nicely and has a nice S tronic gearbox

Hi, the S5 was (until yesterday) the one that was ticking all the boxes TBH. I haven't seen a similar car to that for less than £21k recently, so he did well there. Apparently a 450bhp remap with 98 RON fuel is easily attainable. S5 or M6?; the S5 is the sensible choice but the M6 wins out for me in every other department. :D

See, now I'm reverting back to the 30 year old me, not the 54 year old me! :o

This is a car forum (last time I looked). Surely there is no such thing? :D
Also, with 850Nm of torque, it would come in handy for pulling tree-stumps out :D

I think I may have found my Nirvana. Running costs are going to be pretty eye-watering but as long as I don't drive it, it should be OK. Insurance with my current company is £245 p/a :o

I think that looks stunning, ignore the wife, the colour is stunning

You only live once, if you want it go for it

Says the divorcee with a previous VO car :poke:
I am seriously thinking about it. If it was a vert I would be down the A1 by now. :D
I looked at a Sakhir Orange M4 cab before I bought the chav-mobile (Focus). It was so pretty I wanted to lick it and hoped it tasted like satsuma

ah yes, no contest with an M6 to be fair

A shame you need the seats

I recently sold this, it was a great car to own!

We looked at the M6 Gran Coupe and C63S wagon as a family car. Even though the engine is no match for characterful engine in the Mercedes, I would have chosen the older M6 every time. It’s one of the very few attractive four door coupes and has aged very well.
My wife uses our family car as her daily driver and (unfortunately) she wanted an SUV, so we bought an F Pace S in the end. Given how much she enjoys the Jaguar’s torque and seeing the witness marks of her novel park-by-touch technique, I’m glad we didn’t get something faster, prettier, longer and less robust :D

The VO and the divorce were completely unrelated. There’s was seemingly plenty of other things to p!ss her off before a car colour

I have to say the convertible would be a factor in my choice but if you’re definitely keeping the Zed maybe not so much of an issue??

Don't think you are the only one. My wife refuses point blank to have anything to do with cruise control. She says it's because she likes to drive the car not the other way round (coming from a woman who changes into 2nd gear when coming up to a roundabout regardless of speed); I know it's because she doesn't know how it works and refuses to learn

Aye. And also would be happier leaving it outside (cos it's too ferkin wide to fit in the garage)
Thanks to this place, there is no way the E89 is staying outside. I refuse to be a "rusty hydraulic pump" victim now :)

My wife has only an automatic licence…
Having attempted to teach her (in a hire car, of course), it’s better it stays that way! :D

I had an early 645Ci for a number of years and when I took my young lad to school I used to open the boot myself to get his school bag out just so that I could listen to that marvellous V8 burble from close up

The m6 is a monster I test drove one back in about 2012 it was a damp day and it chirped on every gear change up to forth. Fast luxurious and super cool. Its nice you can get a 4 door too most are cheaper than M5s too. If the wallets deep enough to keep it running I would say its the one!

Well the Orange M6 has disappeared, either sold or advert run out and I didn't note the number down! :x
I am going to keep my eyes peeled for a 6 series (M6, 650 or even maybe 640) that takes my fancy.

Given your dislike of the Focus attracting the wrong attention, the 650i might be a more discrete and grown up option.
