i sincerely doubt 996,s in standard guise will ever start climbing . even the once surething 996 C4s & turbos are dropping .
997,s are falling at alarming ( esp if you own one ) rates . my guess is by next spring you will see many more early 997,s well below £20k
& for the record low mileage is no guarantee on engine bearing failure . correct warming up is deemed to be the secret so if it were me a 1 or maybe 2 owner car is a must

Yeah the 993 is known to be very solid. But, at 18 years old there are the inevitable replacements and none of which are cheap. Everything Porsche carries a premium. A major service is £800, HT leads another £450-500. It's all pricey stuff that's all on the brink. Don't get me wrong there are plenty of well kept examples including mine but you have to be prepared to drop your pants on one. They own you, not vice versa. If you can tuck it in the garage and not worry then game on. I didn't have this luxury.

Goes without saying that I'll get another C2 in a couple if years. Grrrr, tasty wagon that.

Right now a Z4 coupe offers me a car that I love the look of, luxury driving, easy keeping a d relatively cheap motoring. Perfect.

Yeah a 996 is unlikely to climb. It's simply not desireable. It's supply and demand. The 996 isn't the prettiest of cars and that's widely recognised. There are tons on AT to choose from. A 997 is a compelling proposition though!!
