Why pay out more to buy a pc? You can get all the plugins you would ever need in the Apple tv 2.

ATV2 very expensive now Carol due to being able to Jailbreak as you know. Always £200+ now on Ebay.

Question, so it looks like Sky will keep working as a Free View type setup once the contract is cancelled.

Initially yes, but they will at some stage block your existing card and force you to have a new viewing card which currently costs £25 to enable you to continue to receive their 'free' channels.

We've been using our old Sky box in the bedroom for nearly 2 years on our old card viewing Freesat channels.
Sky+ won't work after cancelling.

42" TV HD.... movies, box sets..it would be like cutting an arm off lol..I suppose there are ways off downloading in HD (blueray) and playing back through TV.
All my dodgy downloads are pretty poor quality compared to a sky HD movie.
I pay £34 for just 60mbs broadband. Then £70+ to sky. Other euro nations would laugh at those prices. A relative in Austria pays nowhere near those prices.

I must be mad as I pay just under £115 a month for everything with sky including multiroom. I have xbmc running of a raspberry pi and htpc so may need to look closer at these streams, what's the quality like as I wont watch anything that looks like a poor quality YouTube video.

I get by quite happily with YouTube, Amazon Instant and Netflix US on ma tv.
Have done for about two years now - don't miss regular TV AT ALL

(May occasionally watch footie on a live stream.. but never in this country officer, as that would be totally illegal)

Thanks will give it a go tonight, I've just upgraded to sky fibre 38mb after they finally installed it in my area, I've been planning on removing sports and movies from my package as they seem to cost the most and I already watch a lot of movies of the net.
