Its too quiet!

I'm still waiting to hear a Z4 with a flowmaster exhaust. On a side note, i'm considering being the first Z4 with a flowmaster exhaust :evil:
 
Cut the foam in half an poped it back in went for a run and it sounded as it did before seemed quiet after driving without foam so i popped into a petrol station and took it out most of the time it sounds the same although a little more sporty with gentle acceleration its just annoying at high speed acceleration but once you get there and the car settles down you can cruise at high speed with out all the noise.

Going to keep messing around with foams just for the fun of it as its only a two second job.
 
Popped the foam out of mine too, only had the one bit though, not sure if i like it or not, def groals above 4000 rpm.
 
Well im still enjoying foamless driving as at least theres SOME noise!

I didn't know miltek made an exhaust for a z4? Have you got a picture of what it looks like Ian??

A U.S. brand, pretty much seen on muscle cars or trucks. It gives a good loud and deep rumbling for your engine. I'm not sure if it has any performance gains or not.

I don't think we have a sound generator on the Alpina, your better off fitting a GruppeM intake and it just so happens I have one for sale! :wink: PM me if your interested.
 
Will your GruppeM fit on my Z4M? If so I would be interested ...
 
Provided the intake diameter is the same I don't see why not. The ID where the intake joins the MAF sensor is 84mm.
 
I assume we must be able to verify that on a website somewhere? Maybe Sixspeed has the answer as he fitted one to his M.

Put me on the "interested" list though. Why are you selling it by the way?
 
I'm sure there's a way, the serial number on my intake is 02-0302 if that helps. The main reason I'm taking it off is because the combined noise from the intake and my exhaust is too much. I was 102db on a drivethrough at Silverstone on Saturday without the intake.
 
Can you pm me a price please - that will give me some idea of interest as I can claim VAT back on new units.

Price is fine, however looking on the web site it looks like that is a Z4 3.0 model whilst it looks like I need a 0312 :x :
