Have to say my biggest annoyance with cyclists is those who think it is ok to rest against your car when stopped at lights. Did a reverse once in Glasgow a few years ago when one did it to me causing him to fall over, bet he's never done it again.
A couple of months ago I was out with my mate in his new car, we pulled into a shop car park next to a motorbike while I nipped into the shop the biker came out, never saw my mate sitting in the car and proceeded to rest his helmet on the boot with a less than light touch, Rather than say anything to him my mate just drove out the car park with the bikers lid still on the boot, I saw it from the shop, it was quite funny watching him run after the car.![]()

I'M THE ONE THAT HAS STOPPED AT A RED TRAFFIC LIGHT.

MOBILE PHONE USERS.
Bring back public stocks?

Tax them, make them take a road test, licence plate their bikes for the road and fine them for poor road use.
No doubt cyclists with common sense would complain but sure the same could be said of car drivers with common sense.

Perhaps, but drivers also have to pay licensing fees yearly / registration fees, road tolls, and gasoline 'tax' (specifically roadwork). Also have to learn the rules of the road.
I bicycle to work during the summer months, and I firmly believe that if anyone is using public city roads whether by car, motorcycle, or bicycle... they should need to take a license test that they understand the rules of the roads / signs, right of way, etc.
I am disgusted everytime I see a cyclist ride through a red light / cross walks, or not come to a full stop before turning onto a new street during a red---sometimes endangering pedestrians in the process.

LOL. Ban all cyclists and pedestians and all cars with less than 150bhp I say

LOL indeed,
so all the quiet country lanes with a national speed limit of 60 mph are off limits. Sorry but get real.
but cyclists aren't allowed on motorways either :?ksher said:gannet said:ksher said:They also should not be allowed to ride on the roads where the speed limit is 40mph or above.

If mopeds are not allowed on motorways, similar approach should be applied to bicycles. They create hazards for both cyclists and drivers.

Eh? So you are suggesting taking cyclists off B roads? That means we can only cycle on A roads which are generally busier and where average speeds are higher. Great idea. Not. ksher said:I know exactly how vulnerable the cyclists are on the 40+mph B roads, when other cars drive pass within speeed limit (60mph). This is why I suggest it will be better for not allowing cyclists to those roads.
I personally will never ride the bike on B-roads.
