It's idiots like this that give cyclists a bad name...

What a complete and utter bellend. Almost Darwinism at work there.

It's not surprising so many motorists have a poor opinion of cyclists if that sort of behaviour is regularly seen in London. I commute by bike on a daily basis but thankfully not in a city and not in serious traffic. But what a complete muppet, I never ride like that...

Indeed. And I bet he wont pay for the inevitable damage to the car/bus :x

Great quality footage though from the camera

holy :o

at least his bike was fooked :x

I too cycle to work daily and I see some idiots as well. Some think they are invincible.

Imagine if that were your nice new shiny z4.... would be gutted... have to get out, pick him up and slap him...

I've cycled, driven and walked around London over the years and it doesn't surprise me the amount of accidents involving cyclists.

I even grabbed one by his backpack when he tried to run me and my colleagues over as we were crossing the road at a pedestrian crossing whilst the lights were on green for pedestrians. I was the 3rd in the line of people crossing and I just caught sight of the bike as he came hurtling through the traffic stopped at the red light. Before I knew it his front wheel was in between me and my colleague in front and I instinctively stepped back a little, but inexplicably also reached out to grab/hit him. I missed the rider but caught enough of the backpack to pull him off the bike. I didn't remonstrate with him or anything, and simply completed my crossing to join my colleagues.

Tucking Fosser

What a tit! No sympathy on my part deserved everything he had coming. I cycle into central London most days without incident (touch wood). What's the rush???

xactly - better to be late in this world than early in the next

What a plum. It's high time cyclists took responsibility for their awful decisions

Tax them, make them take a road test, licence plate their bikes for the road and fine them for poor road use.

No doubt cyclists with common sense would complain but sure the same could be said of car drivers with common sense.

erm.... we ARE taxed... car tax DOES NOT pay for the roads.... that would be your COUNCIL TAX....

Sorry I meant bike tax. I just want to penalise them as much as possible as I almost ran a moron over during my lunch break!

Again, apologies to the good bike riders on here hope you don't take offence :-)

Correct! Taxing cyclists would NEVER work: the health (and other benefits) of cycling count for a lot - no government would tax ALL cyclists off the road. I can see the benefits though because at the moment cyclists have little accountability for their actions - it's arseholes like the bloke in the video who spoil it. I can't say I know the answer :)

And Mafoo, cyclists can be fined for poor road use.

they should have insurance, if he damaged the car who would have paid?
That's tricky - in this case that cyclist is sooooooo blatantly in the wrong so should be liable. I join the CTC purely because I want the £10m third-party insurance that membership includes. Makes sense IMO.

It's the <1% of cyclists who spoil it for the majority. Much in the same way that the <1% of motorists spoil it for the majority too I suppose...

I see this kind of stupidity every day. Anyone who wants to spectate on such antics need only drive past Clapham Common any weekday morning.
I agree that bicycles should have registration plates and compulsory third party insurance. A basic licence wouldn't go amiss either...
I also think that most London bus drivers shouldn't be allowed to drive any kind of vehicle, but that's another winge all together!
