Italian Grand Prix - come on Lewis !!

Enjoyed that today.

It's great that Merc keep giving Lewis ureliable equipment, or he'd have walked away with it by now and we would all be bored. :poke:

He's clearly a better driver and a much better racer, than Nico. :driving:

He's also a total Chav, but no one's perfect.

Hamilton is a non-corporate racer. Isn't that what we all want to see?

Never a truer word spoken!

The guy must be an absolute nightmare for the finance and PR guys

But the move of the day for me was by Ricciardo on Vettel. Well set up by him from the chicane, and an excellent split second switch to take him on the inside at the next. Very impressed by his driving in the last few races, a champion in the making for sure.
I agree that was slick and Ricciardo as you said is "a champion in the making".

Bore off Hamilton haters... Anyone would think you only like white skinned, muted, bland faces on the track...

Anyway... An interesting paragraph from the BBC F1 column about Mr Rosberg

"The team were very angry with him for his behaviour. And within F1 - as more information creeps out with the passing of time from conversations between team members - more and more people are coming to the conclusion that his 'mistake' in qualifying in Monaco, when Rosberg went down the escape road and cost Hamilton a chance to beat him to pole, was anything but."

Rich perhaps they don't like him because he's got millions in the bank, a beautiful girlfriend, private plane, Zonda 760 made specially for him by Horatio Pagani and a home in Monaco. Not bad for a chav eh?

He's a breath of fresh air in this sport. Did you hear the noise yesterday when he passed Rosberg and Massa (and the booing of Rosberg on the podium). Clearly just British fans again eh Nico?

Agreed. I doubt their is any other driver on the track who could have worked their way back through the field like he has during past races due to problems. It made it very exciting to watch, especially as a Lewis supporter.

I don't know why people hate him. He is a British driver, worked his way up through hard work and is clearly very talented. I like the fact I can see into his life with his little videos he posts of him thrashing his Zonda through the Monaco tunnel, and cocking around with his mates etc. Its exactly what I would be doing if I was him. Good luck to him I say.

I have been a bit "Meh" about F1 over the last few years, but this years has got be right back into it. I expect next year to be even better with next years cars, Lewis, Nico, Ricciardo and Bottas.

I loved the race, really good to see Hammy get into Nico's head. So many other drivers having a good race as well. Well done Massa for getting a podium and nice to see him and Hammy having a chat afterwards.

However, what I did not like was the podium and the other two speaking in Italian. Bang out of order and just goes to show what a privileged upbringing can buy you. Well done Hammy for having the last word though!

A privileged upbringing does not allow you to automatically speak other languages

The Italian crowd love it. I remember Alonso doing the same thing and the Tifosi went crazy.

I don't really care. They're in a foreign country so should respect their language.

I am not especially a F1 fan but I really enjoyed the race yesterday and I thought Lewis was excellent to worm his way into the lead and he is certainly a very talented racer. :driving:

Calling Lewis Hamilton a chav is a bit silly. He probably works harder than any of us.

not quite what the man said

Really? He said a privileged upbringing allows you to speak other languages by buying them

Just no. Plenty of poor foreigners who are multi-lingual.

I really don't get this Lewis hater thing, maybe someone can explain.
I don't care what colour he is, whether he has a stunning gf, how many millions he has, or whether he is a bit of a pr**k at times away from the track. I enjoy watching him the racing driver, and admire his skill when going wheel to wheel with other drivers. And as already said he is a true thoroughbred racer, and any true racing fan simply cannot deny he isn't.

I agree with you zed-steve, his father did more than one job to support lewis in his early years, I admire that..
They worked hard for what they have

I'm not jealous of LuLu at all - I couldn't do his 'job', yes I'd relish doing F1 as a job with the trappings that come with it but I imagine the vast majority also would.........and I used to like him more but think in the last few years he has changed and become a rather unpleasant person plus I still think he is King of the Chavs (look at the constant bling, the wannabee gangsta dog, his rapping, the tattoos everywhere, semi-WAG)......

He sometimes moans about anything and everything and sometimes comes across as a petulant child (a bit like Alonso did a few years back) and doesn't seem to want to get on with a lot of people and thinks he is the best (maybe he is). He is definitely a very good and accomplished racer which deserves some respect, but that shouldn't/doesn't preclude people from being pleasant/nice/normal/grown-up.....

Having money does not stop you from being chavvy either - just look at lottery winner Michael Carroll (sp), although he did blow all his - imagine it would be quite hard for LuLu to get rid of all his now!

Just saw Rosberg on tv this morning - think it was an advert to subscribe to Sky . If I'm interpreting it right he was intimating ( wink wink   ) that he had deliberately let Hamilton get past - the condescending smug prat - from what I saw of the race it wouldn't have been long before Lewis would have got him anyway - I used to quite like him but not anymore :x :x :x :x :x :x
