Just re-read this, i guess you meant that the one you fitted was 72 instead of 71. I don't think that would make a difference mate.

teething problems

be brave, soon you will be very happy with it, my battery also died yesterday urghhh

i put mine on charge this morning and they went for a spin later

i am now having problems with the heating/ac

we need to bad times to truely appreciate the good

Had the same when my battery died and had it replaced. Apparently we need to "register" the battery with the car's computer again, it has to be done by either a BMW dealer or a garage with an appropriate diagnostics computer.

I'd love to know why you have to go to a Registra for a new battery, but per the original post, fella, please don't loose hope as everyone says on here is worth it in the end.

Had a couple of wrinkles (windows with minds of their own; a warning bulb light; wandering steering; dodgy bonnet sensor... etc) all simply fixed from all the fabulous advice from the forum.

+1 for it's worth it in the end & now I have a real peach of a car

One thing I have noticed different ; the windows don't "one touch close" anymore ??

This happens when battery has been disconnected, search "reset windows". It takes 30 seconds.

...or you could find a big ole screw in one of your new Michelin PS Super Sports (<500 miles) and have BMW tell you that they cannot repair, but would be happy to replace for ~$400.
Sorry for the hijack, just needed to vent - I feel better now....
