Issues with the M - Help?

No idea what's up or how to fix but now you have the codes I would of thought the garage can translate that into a fix?

Just dropped it off at my Indy. He thinks its a TPS sensor too, or possibly the actuator motor. He is going to check the TPS sensors first.
 
Update - Just heard from my Indy. Throttle actuator is goosed and they recommend changing the TPS at the top of the engine. £371 ex Vat for actuator. Didn't get the price for the TPS. Actuator is on back order so 10 days for that to arrive.

In the meantime, my Indy is away to phone my warranty company. No doubt they will wrangle out of it so looks like I'm set for a nice £7-800 bill. Got to love performance cars.

How many miles have you now done in the car ?




If the warranty company start to wiggle,i guess a good second hand one could be sourced..There are a couple of breakers that have sold Z4M's..

In fact there is one on Ebay at the moment for £98.50.......Its not far from me either,so if need be i wouldnt mind picking it up and sending to you..
 
Car has only done 35,000 miles. I'm praying that the warranty company foot some of the bill, but I am prepared for the worst.

I did consider a second hand actuator, but who is to say that it won't go pear shaped after a few miles. I think for piece of mind I would be best sticking a new one on there. Thanks for the offer though, it's much appreciated.

Can anybody tell me, is it a straight forward like for like replacement or do the throttle butterflies need to be calibrated or anything like that?

Fingers crossed this is the problem and the warranty pay up however I wonder what their wear and tear policy has within it...
 
Apparently they onl cover mechanical and electrical failures. With the actuator being electrically driven, surely it either works or it doesn't. So in my eyes, it's a failure. Most probably in the warranty companies eyes it will be wear and tear.
