Isofix Bracket

Hello all,

Would like to retrofit the Isofix bracket to my passwenger m sport seats.

Long shot I know as these seem to be like hens teeth and cant be bought as a standalone part from BMW.

Any tips or guides on fitment of the bracket or is it pretty straighforward?

Pretty straight forward tbh. Lift the leather flap up at the back, undo 4 bolts, remove current plate, install current plate, add 4 bolts, put the leather flap back.

Will work out if you need to remove the seat back, I think you will need to.

Will post some pictures in here over the weekend to help you.

Okay, thought it would be straight forward to get out but there is a bit more to it so here goes:

Remove covers both sides of the seat back



Remove bolts both sides



Seat back will then pull up and off with a wiggle. If you have heated seats unplug the blue plug underneath the seat and feed the wire up through when pulling the back up and off



Remove screw



Now remove the side plastic, easily to show with it off so you can see the tabs and clips

Unclip the front tab with a flat screw driver



Unclip the 2 bottom tabs



Blue arrow points to a hidden tab to lift and unclip, red arrows show areas you lift up and over and then off.



With the cover off there are 4 bolts to remove, 1 gold and 3 black



Side unbolted, just let it hang there as the seat slide lever is still connected



Remove the first aid box, open the flap and inside is a tab you push up at the front, centre and then pull forwards

Remove this trim



One bolt on the left



One bolt on the right



There are 2 tabs you push to release the trim shown with the trim removed



Remove the seat base trim on the left, start from the back (seat buckle side)



Side removed



Do the same the other side



Unclip the seat back



Like so



Remove the 2 bolts from each side, should have white paint on them

Next to each of the top bolts either side there is a metal tab



Straighten them both



Now the back of seat should lift up



Grab the metal and rotate clockwise and pull it out



With the metal piece removed. Yours obviously won't have isofix hooks on it.

That`s more work than I would have anticipated . If you remove the isofix bracket do you have to replace it with another ( non isofix ) bracket or is it just a straight removal ?
