Ive had my car for about 5-6 weeks and only today I realised that if I unlock the car with the key-fob and then I keep my finger on the button the roof and both windows come down.
Is this a standard feature?

Thanks everyone

Andrew

Nope ... you either need a module for that. However, I have heard some people that managed to get an Indy to program the key to close it.

how about the windows closing if you hold down the lock button (coupe)? my E92 did it but my Z4 coupe doesn't - is it something the dealer has to program?

Yep, since April 2004 it is standard ...
thanks very much, does the roof close using the key-fob??
thanks again

Andrew

Hi Andrew

2 options

1) Get an indy with an autologic box to program this for you - you can get lots of other things programmed as well and prices vary but there is a guy in Telford that does the job for not much at all

2) Get the module as advised above - do a search on here as there are a couple of options. The benifit of the module is that you can open and close by one-touch rather than keeping the button held plus you can raise/lower at speeds below 25mph IIRC

Cheers

My roof opens and closes with the key fob - came as standard with the car- September 2005.

Thanks Jamie,

When doing this i often find the roof will stop half way down resulting in me (embarrassingly) having to climb inside and finish it with the dash button. Perhaps my key battery is just weak?

on my 2003 3.0 the roof goes up and down on the key turned in the lock (ie, turn to unlock, hold it there, roof goes down and vice versa). I believe on a pre 04 model, you can't get it set to do on the remote?

Hi mate two questions, one what other things can you get programmed as that sounds very cool and got any details for the chap in telford?

cheers

Peter @ Autotech in Telford did mine on Saturday, can't wait to pull up at work tomorrow and walk off with the roof going up. Please be a sunny morning!

That does sound amazing if you dont mind me asking how much did they charge? Do you have any idea what else they can program it to do, any other cool stuff?

£25 for as many options as you want. Some other useful things like passenger window one touch up, three flash indicators, auto lock above 5mph, auto lock after un-lock if no door opened, visible and audible lock alerts etc.

Peter sits down with the machine and reads through all the options asking if you want it on or off - top guy
