My sentiments exactly Bing. You should've seen the state of mine at the National Lakes meet. Filthy was not the word - I felt like the poor relation!!
I don't get chance to clean mine very often these days and it's not garaged but I know that when I do clean it the paintwork is in great condition and it will look fab (as it did at Zedfest).
Plus if you use a car it will get stone chips/dings/scratches - if I accumulate any I tend to get them all sorted once or twice a year and try to not to get too worked up about them in between.
tomscott, thanks for your input, I think you more than most have heard about the various highs and lows I've been through with the Zed. I'm not planning on doing anything rash with it just yet.
Mine's a daily driver too. Wasn't perfect when I brought it and since then the front end has gained a rash of stone chips and other imperfections. I have a ding on the bonnet where something fell from the eaves of the garage on to it. The alloys are a bit scuffed. Still looks OK when it is cleaned up. It's reasonably economical and the extended service intervals and older car servicing discount mean that it isn't that expensive to run for what it is.
It drives absolutely fine and I find the commute to work in it sets me up for the day and the commute home helps me not to take my work home.
Life is too short. I no longer worry about car parks (unless they look unsafe) and other such stuff. What will be will be.The thought of having to drive around in something a bit sensible Mon to Fri is at the moment unpalatable.
Personally, I can't think that the Z4 is any more difficult to drive than anything else I have had in the past. (It's certainly easier to park in a confined space than my wife's Insignia.
My only concern is what I will replace it with when the time comes but I guess thats a discussion for another thread.........
Perhaps the answer for some of you who have concerns (and can afford to run two cars) is to find an old snotter of a Z4 for your daily drive (they are cheap enough) and keep the nice one for your leisure time....
And finally I generally don't dress up or wear make up in mine either

Thanks for all your input guys. To be truthful after day 9 in the Polo, I drove back home in the sunshine today and really missed the Zed. Will shortly be filling her up and going for a spin!

haha i know i know, ok ive been away for 2 of those months, but i dont have time this weekend cos im moving house, then im going away, then im driving to wales to see family so possibly may do it that weekend, if not possibly the weekend after......
