Is the coupe worth more than the roadster?

In monetary value around 10/15% more for the C over the R dpending on time of year , however in ownership pleasure terms then reverse the above :P ?
 
That's obviously a controversial opinion Mr Wilks. The coupe z4 is rarer (fact) and is a better drive due to being stiffer ( only slightly controversial) :roll: :thumbsup:

And that's from a former die-hard coupé lover. Though it is possible he's been on the vino, he's absolutely right :D

It's about the whole experience, and with a roof you can't have the whole experience :wink:
 
Ditto all of the above in favour of the smile factor associated with the Roadster.

The stiffness thing has been rehearsed on here before and the consensus seems to be that the car was built as a Roadster so the stiffness was inbuilt.
 
Yeah, I can live with a loss of some stiffness given the extra smiles from going topless!

10% seems right to me, £1500 extra on a 15k car..

2 points i cannot disagree with , but my thoughts were based on the question being M related & a major ownership factor is the engine & that my friend is most definitely best enjoyed with the roof down :wink: at which point i really cba if the Roady isn't as stiff as a coupe :P neither are their owners :poke: :thumbsup:
 
Not sure when that started as the coupe was a lot cheaper when new to buy.

A point i noticed some years ago & could only assume was a reflection of the total number of all Z4 roadsters on the roads by comparison to coupes :?
 
Nothing beats the sun on your face, wind in your hair and exhaust note ringing all around you offered by a roadster :thumbsup:
 
Thought it has its hazards - a wee bird dropping appeared right in my line of sight on the windscreen when out today, no evidence of it being anywhere else, phew... When I got home I found there was a massive splat on the rubber at the top of the screen in line with my head, and some trailing leftovers on the boot. I was about 1mph way from a face-full :lol:
 
As already said, about10-15% extra for the coupé.

Not sure why, the coupe seems to be the coveted marque, all magazine articles are about the coupe etc. for me, even with the draw of topless motoring, the Z4 just looks too awkward with the ragtop, the coupe is a thing of beauty. If I'd have gone Z4MR I'm pretty sure I'd have gotten bored and sold it on by now. Don't shoot me, just my 2p. :driving:

i just find driving the coupe makes me feel better, more special - ye i'm special i know lol
 
Second hand market logic is an interesting quirk of life. I suspect the Z3///M Coupe has a lot to do with the premium on the Z4///M Coupe :o I thought the numbers were pretty similar for UK sales. For sure I'll be sticking with the gorgeous lines of Mr Bangles best ever effort. :thumbsup:
 
have not owned a z4m r but had the z3mr, loved it but after a while it felt like half a car and anyway i always really wanted the coupe. so went for the coupe when I changed to the z4m. as to values , the coupe generally is priced about 3k more than the roady,for good reason imo it just looks more special. look at the way z3m coupes have left the roadsters behind pricewise too, surely indicative of the way the z fours will go in the future. :thumbsup:
