Is it worth maintaining the warranty? (Roof failure fear)

some roof failures (eg the motor getting flooded, which is common) are NOT covered by the BMW warantee. Be warned!

CJ, for you I would agree as you're quite technically capable, but for the average person I would say it's worth it when you consider labour costs.

p.s. WD quoted me around £350 IIRC, but I never went for it because I'd like to think I'm quite technically capable too now... well I did do the headlight conversion.

I appreciate I'm technically capable (and like the compliment ) but seriously though what is the average person covering for that is going to cost in that region and a bit more. work it out over 2 years and you have over £1,000 to play with.

I'd also point out that my numbers are retrospective, so it's not liek I suffered any loss and DIY'd my way out of it.

Just checked and mine is def £536.33 pa or £46.64 monthly (£670 if I specify franchised dealer repairs)

Yeah I guess so... I mean they wouldn't offer it if they didn't make money so...

£670!!! I got offered around £350 which included satnav, etc covered plus I could take it to BMW.
