I'd be lying if I said I hadn't pulled into an empty carpark to find the huge staples store I had just drove to had been shut down forever, to which I let me anger out in the form of a 720+ degree rotational movement before exiting the car park and driving home. :roll:


snow + rear wheel drive cars can be fun for donuts, had some fun doing some crazy donuts in my brother'ls slk

its definitely a bad idea to do it in sainsburys carpark though :lol:
 
So is it possible to do a burnout? I have triend I turned off dsc and floored it but nothing? I'd imagine always driving in sport mode has nothing to do with not being able too? :?
 
Will the open differential mean that it only spins one rear wheel ?

Book a skid pan day. I did a course at Pro drive several years ago. Now I just practice occasionaly, to keep my hand in. Never know when it might come in handy.

It won't do it from a standing start, you need to get a little speed up and then flick it into a circle then floor it. In a manual you can increase revs to break traction. In autos you need to flick it in. In DCT you can do either.
 
Y'all have had sheltered lives lol ....In an auto ...turn drivers aides off(traction control) left foot on brake car in drive .As you ease the throttle down back off the brake so the car judders as it's about to move keep brake more than slightly on and depress throttle you'll feel the wheel spin ... Just control the front brakes with your left foot making sure you don't really move to much and spin the life out of the rears with the throttle down .... Once you get the hang of it put the roof down and do it standing up and wave to the mrs lol then fit a LSD and that's a whole another write up about being a hooligan :rofl:

Davidstow. Taught both my kids to drive there. Plus there is an large area of flat concrete, that I've had several hours of fun on over the years. The actual runways are useless and full of pot holes. Enjoy and be nice to the sheep, if they are about.
 
I sold my last car and got the Z4 as I thought it was a gentleman's car but I was wrong you are all nutter's and hooligans lol :lol: :lol: :evil: :driving:
 
Buzyg you've made my day. I fitted a LSD a little while ago and been looking for someplace safe to have a proper play. Can you just drive straight into this place then.?

I tried doing a donut once in the 2.5 and due to the open diff it just drove in a circle with just the inside wheel spinning :rofl: I did my first one in the M the other week and it was unbelievable how easy it will donut.

I wouldn't do it in a car park, I once done it in a snow covered car park in my 4.0 jeep Cherokee put it in 2 wheel drive and give it large was spinning around and around loving it until a 4x4 land rover showed up with a big police sticker on the side of it, did I get a talking too or what, but very lucky got let off with a clip round the ear, I told him it wouldn't go into 4 wheel drive for some reason :)

Mines a 2.5 manual with the sports mode button is there something I need to turn off or will I just have the same problem as sim_simma had in his 2.5 ? :(

Hold the dsc button til the warning light comes on the dash then the traction control and dsc is off completely. You may find it difficult to donut it from a standstill but get moving in a tight circle and boot it then see what happens :lol:
 
I remember asking Taz about this because I couldn't get mine to do it. As said, switch the traction control all the way off - one press is half off, press for three secs and it's all the way of with a warning triangle on the dash. Importantly, in an e85/86 auto when you come to rest the car stays in 2nd, even in manual mode. You need to make sure you flick it down into 1st, and it helps if the road is a little damp as Taz demonstrated outside Loomies :D
