I only actually tried once in the 2.5 because my friends were begging me after work (private land) the second time was 2 years later in the M knowing it had the lsd so had to try (again private land) was epic  even my dad decided to do one when I let him drive.

Nope because you have a open diff I'm afraid

So, only a sports car with a LSD can do donuts ? I don't think so, as a quick search on YouTube shows... They're definitely not as impressive or as tight as an M, so you need more room, but it's possible. For example :

Not sure what's up with the quality of that vid actually, was fine on YouTube itself :?

Lol you posted a video of a guy with a open diff not being able to perform a doughnut. He did manage a slide due to momentum thou.!!

Erm...that does look quite a lot like a guy driving in circles with the inside rear wheel spinning! Sorry Bing :P

Fair enough - he called it a donut, not me - I just relayed the message :P

Still looks like it was fun :D

Yep, definitely looks fun. Besides, despite the popular misconception, the police definitely don't like doughnuts...and they make you fat :D

by burnout i am just assuming smoking the tyres as you set off????????
I have always thought a burnout was this a friend of mine used to just keep his rwd sapphire cosworth in one spot & light the rears up without moving I always thought it looked great but I never managed to master it though.

Years ago in my old 200sx I used to love doing doughnuts in empty car parks its just so easy when you have a LSD & I cant say I am a big fan of open diffs they just spoil the fun somewhat!

Guess this went off topic.

:o And what's the point of a burnout? I guess fun if you have an old car / one you want to rag. At least clutch and tyres get worn?!

OMG this is like ordering coffee in NEW YORK ha ha ha too many options !!!!!

So what is a LSD and why does my z not have one ! I really want to impress my 19 year old daughters boyfriend so driving around in circles with one wheel spinning is not what I had in mind :)

HELP !

There are super intelligent people on this site that will tell you the ins and out of a LSD. I'm not one of those people lol.

On the other hand as soon as I brought my Z I ripped out the diff and fitted a LSD in the housing for £600. Because BMW got all sensible nearly twenty years ago they stopped putting them in there cars. It's now only the M cars that have a lSD now.
