I just bought a used Z4 E85 2006 3.0i. It only has 53K miles and is in great condition. I'm 75 and don't need to go to the track or race some kid off the line while at a traffic signal anymore BUT I find the 215hp a bit underwhelming. Its an N52 block and I've heard that the ECU can be boosted to 3.0si configuration giving it 255 hp. Is that possible? I've got an INDY guy that works on my cars to limit costs. Are there any other additional parts needed for that transformation? If so, what are they? What should I expect price wise on parts to make this happen? Thanks in advance for your valued knowledge!

What all did it take parts and labor wise to make it happen?
We don’t have the 3.0i in the UK, but we do have the 2.5i and the upgrade to 2.5Si spec is the same. You literally just need the manifold off a 3.0Si and the tune. It’s a relatively easy DIY job to change the manifold, 1-2 hours if you’re experienced, 3-4 if you take your time. A second pair of hands helps. Running the tune takes another hour.
You can get a good second hand manifold in the UK for less than £100, but parts seem to be more expensive on your side of the pond.

I just installed 3 stage intake manifold on my N52, then flashed the file from bimmerlabs with RSA delete and 3.0i to 3.0si tune using ICOM
Both disa works, now I have upgraded from 3.0i 210hp to 3.0si 265 hp!

Yes, it's possible. I'm the one wrote the article. I'm planning to make a step by step tutorial video for that. But first you need to have KDCAN cable, a laptop, a battery tender, a 3 SIM with 2 DISA (recommend using new ones, doesn't matter if it is aftermarket. All it does is just full open and full close)
*If you know all the steps and can do it your self, don't flash the file on bimmerlabs if yours is 2006 3.0i manuactured before october. It will give you engine light.

Apologies for the hijacking, but thanks a bunch of this Ivanchen! im in process of doing this upgrade for 07 e85. Just wanted to confirm if the modded file impacts this configuration (06 to 07 MY). Bimmerlabs has been down the last few days so I haven't been able to download directly from them.

What's your last 7 VIN digit? Can check the ZB number using realoem and know which version is for your Z4
I think I have a copy of bimmerlabs 2007&later version 0da in my disk.
Last 7 digits are LW60240. Apologies im unsure where to look on realoem for the ZB#, only use it to find hardware PNs. Thanks in advance!
