is it just me....

It's not just the forum, it's everyday life. When did it all become so rude and angry. Even old people are doing it!

I'm with you on this actually, manners are in very scarce supply nowadays. Perhaps it is online communication norms - truncated, badly constructed, lacking in emotional expression & care of delivery - creeping into every day 'real' life....

Case in point some oldish guy in the bar at the campsite on Saturday...

Me and Ian (sk93) went in to watch the game and sat up at the bar. Apparently Ian was slightly blocking this gentleman's view, because he loudly shouts "have you got a fucking brain, get out the fucking way I can't see". Sadly Ian moved, and the old man in questioned declined my "request" to ask it politely and kept giving me dirty looks, until metallicker and jimbo came in that is, hard looking lads them two.

I see it happening on hear. I just try and forget it there as most of the time it's good banter with mates. And really helpful car info

Distinct absence of E89 presence in this thread thus far. Is this due to the nouveau riche crowd, not suffering with ex saxo hot heads.

LoL Edit: Due to Carole beating me to it. Took too long writing that post :D

That's cause there's not that many of us......plus they are all debating over a 28i or a 35is or how to make their 2.0l quicker than a E85 ///M lol

You leave that Z2 forum alone. It's nice over there it is.
I ended up mooching around on there, I felt like I was at school sneaking into a staff only zone. Very eery

OP, despite the fact I have just criticised a remark you made regarding Burberry and tracksuits, I do agree with you. I make the point at the end of my reply to your post.

However, I include you in the blame, as I think what you said was arrogant. Your remark about the car and price bracket (above) backs this up, what do you think is going on? Are there some lower class citizens daring to post on your sacred board? If you sound up your own arse, you will get people's backs up.

But I did make the point that I feel as though the boards aren't as chilled and enjoyable as they once were.

I did make mention of the fact that I'm well aware of being drawn into it, and also aware that i can be a bit of a keyboard warrior.
I make no bones about it - I have been particularly harsh in some of my reply posts.
But, the key difference is I never actually start the sniping or snideness on any of the threads - i've just been replying to them.
and it's a very recent thing, as quite frankly, it's been grating at me for a while and I'd had enough of staying quiet (likely alcohol helped with that part).

I'd tried to word my reply so that I wasn't coming across and saying I entirely agreed with the price bracketing point. I used the word maybe right at the start, as I really don't know if that is the case. I don't think I ever will.

As for what I think, maybe I do believe there is a type of person that the z4 is becoming appealing to now due to the reduction in price, and maybe I do feel that type of person is someone I would rather not have posting here. That doesn't make me up my own arse, but it does make me opinionated - and those opinions are formed from my experiences..

There are a wide array of people who can now afford a zed, who couldn't before, and I've not got a problem with most of them.
I do have a problem with the small minority of 'nobbers' as I'd like to refer to them as. They've no respect for others, quite happy to insult and disrespect others, and seem to take pride in generally being a nob in regards to common decency - and I'm talking about out in the 'real world'. If they don't exist where you live, then I mean it when I say I'm happy for you.
Sadly, they are all over nottingham; driving whatever car they have around the inner ring roads, flat out regardless of traffic conditions, revving the nuts off their car in the public carpark of a residential area late at night. crashing into walls causing them to fall over and driving off without admitting responsibility. (this happened just this weekend in my normally quiet village.. the culprits were caught, both young lads bombing around in a modified Astra VXR, neither of which points came as a surprise)
I'm sorry to say that this all happens within 10 miles of my front door on a daily basis. you only have to read the local rag to see yet another story of some 'nobber' causing grief or antagonising someone for their own pleasure... and they almost always fit the very same profile.

There are people like that across all brackets of financial levels, but it's more commonly found in those with a little less to spend on a car than others.
I'm sorry, but that's how it truly is where I live.

I'm not rich. I've been on the dole. I've been nearly homeless. I didn't get my zed brand new. I don't dress in designer clobber. I don't fart champagne bubbles.. but I certainly don't like that type of person, and I'd much prefer they didn't bring their "real world" attitude onto a forum that I've gained so much information from and so many friends.

tis all.

Lux, I'll answer you here as Bill has locked the other thread.
I got peed off at people after my sons crash as they were posting nasty comments on something they couldn't possibly know about as they weren't there.
Racing on a public road was being discussed on the other thread which, clearly, is wrong and was admitted was going on.

Maybe when you join up to the forum you should be handed a quota of posts  & once they're gone :? Adios

Well guys I am a very dissapointed !

Firstly you all claim that the forum has gone down hill in the last twelve months ( just as I joined in October last year)

Secondly you claim that the drop in price of the e85 has allowed some undesirables to join the forum - my e85 was £7k and I couldn't afford much more at the time... Does that make me an undesirable ???

I am proud of owning my Z4 and have loved everyminute of being here on the forum and have always enjoyed help and support from like mineded individuals (AS I THOUGHT)
but to be honest I feel like the poor relation reading some of your comments......maybe comments regarding the clientele are the very reason people feel devalued and 2nd class !

Since when in the rules of the forum does it suggest you have to be rich to afford a nearly new Z4 so older cars don't bring the tone of the forum down !!!!!

Saddened by all of this, maybe I should leave and come back when I have a brand new Z thus keepin the standard up and members happy.

My comment wasn't at all nasty Cazza, and I felt you got arsey with me....maybe I was wrong as things don't come a cross as meant sometimes!?
....that's why arguments happen on here mainly, text comes across differently than if people were sat face to face.
