Firstly, hi all :) Sorry to pile together the introductions and a plea for help but my search for a zmc is running low on time so I thought I'd try my luck!

Somewhat unsurprisingly I'm struggling to find much in the way of decently priced and specced zmcs for sale at the moment and thought I might see if anyone on here is thinking of selling soon but is holding out for the chaos of Christmas to subside!

I'm not really 'too' bothered about mileage as long as its serviced and priced to suit and I'm not afraid of mods (my other car is currently engineless awaiting a rather feisty engine conversion) as I generally prefer a more focussed car than most manufacturers provide. Perhaps my only criteria is no blue ones as I've had one for 10 years and need a change!

So if anyone has or knows of a car that might be available soon but the owner is holding off for quieter times please let me know as I have cash waiting and a limited time frame to work with.

Thanks

Ian

Thanks for the links. I've noticed that black one on PH and I plan on getting in touch soon, it does look to be a good genuine car.

The Second link won't open for some reason but if it's the interlagos auc then I seem to remember it's well used and quite low specced. I'd rather spend a bit more and get something a little fresher and plumper in the spec department.

ideally id like ether a ruby black, sepang bronze or a silver grey but would consider an imola, white or sapphire car aswell.

I've been regularly checking on here, PH and auto trader and have a few in my shortlist to go and see but I guess I'm hoping someone on here has my perfect car but just needs a little persuasion/prompting to sell! :poke:

Edit: second link decided to work for me and it is the one I was thinking of. Not sure I want one with quite so many miles and I'd rather avoid blue

The first one in the link seems to me the best one, just check the seats and everything else. All seems to stack up to me.

Thanks Darren and I will do. :)

I've always found forums to be a great help when it comes to fiddling with cars and whilst I really can't let myself get carried away with tweaking (ruining!) this one, I'm sure there will be times when a bit of help is needed.

Hmmm all the links seem to work..

The last link is the interlagos car that belonged to a member on here..

I think you maybe hard pushed to prize many of the members cars off them on here..........lol..............

Theres that White ///MC with the black wheels, can't post the link but it was in the for sale section the other week, really nice car

Black is a great colour for a sports car , especially one as good as an mc . Saw a black v8 vantage in Stamford today and it looked amazing , must get some polish for my mc to make it mirror shiny.

Hello & welcome  & good luck in your search, hope you find a cracking motor, you will love it when you get one :)

PVR- agreed, looks nice.

Z4m- I think it was just my computer playing up, link works fine for me now.

Darren- that white one is nice but the spoiler and wrap really aren't to my taste and I'd hate to be left with damage when I tried to remove them. Given the mileage it also seems like an insp2 might be looming.

I've actually seen a car recently which I absolutely love but there are some sticking points regarding its servicing and some of the wear around the car.

It's done just under 20k but has only had one service since its running in service and whilst numerically it checks out, I can't help feeling it should have had another based on time. Should this be a cause for concern or do i just let it slide and use it as leverage?

It also has a bit of a lip on the front discs which at that mileage seems a surprise- are these cars generally heavy on discs and is that kind of wear normal within such mileage?

There are a few niggly details that need sorting, scabby wheels, low tyres, key missing and no tax, but on the whole it's a stunning car even though I feel it should be perfect with such low mileage. Perhaps I'm just being a bit picky?

The car should have an oil and brake fluid service every 2 years irrespective of mileage, my ///M has done 38K miles and still on the original discs, reckon on about £500 for a new pair plus pads, Tyres and wheels can be sorted easy enough, a good bartering point too

Just check the running in service too, 1200 miles +\- 600 my supplying dealer told me, Mill BMW Sunderland Btw

Mines on the original front discs at 60k and there is plenty of life left in them.

Depends how the car has been driven. Heavy, violent braking will wear out the discs..

I'm sure a ZMC should be serviced every 2 years irrelevant of mileage,IMHO that's a minimum..

Low tyres... Well they do like tears, but 20k of normal driving shouldn't have worn the front tyres out..

Ditto with the scabby wheels.. It sounds like its got low miles, but they have been hard ones!!

Seems like you could be upto £2k in bits and bobs after purchase price

Wouldn't worry too much as the disks often lip. Doesn't necessarily mean they're at their life's end but obv worth checking general thickness.

You sound like somebody who knows what they're after and very specific. GLWTS :£

Bing, Saskia and lee-thanks :)

somehow I'd missed the first link in z4m's post. That really does look very nice but unfortunately I'll be leaving the uk a day or two after fern gets back so I doubt there will be time to sort anything. :( saying that, if I haven't found anything by that point then perhaps I'll try and fit it in. My boss will just have to deal with my late arrival

As for the one I mentioned before, thanks for your thoughts. The servicing does concern me a little although perhaps a stamp has been forgotten at some point in its life. Blind optimism? Perhaps, but it it possible for BMW to check its history if I give them the reg? Fingers crossed thats the case.

As for the tyres, I should have said its the rears that are nearly finished, can't be more than 2mm left on them. The fronts are around 50% so not too bad but coupled with the discs it does look like it may have been given a hard time. That's if the mileage is genuine of course.

Inkey, ive tried to be as open minded as possible with these cars but I've just got sucked into colours and specs with extended this and pro that etcetc. Life was much easier as a kid when all you had to do was find the fastest/coolest thing you could insure and then go and hammer the poor thing down some country lanes!
