Is anyone thinking of selling......Got one now!

Just had a look at yours Ali, lovely car but sadly you're just too far away given the time I have :( don't fancy a holiday in the tropical paradise that is Bournemouth by any chance do you?!

Went to see a silver 55k AUC coupe yesterday which was nice and honest and ready to go. Couldn't help feeling that at 17k it was too much even with CSL's and full bmsh given the low spec and worn seats and wheel. Well, that, and I'm still in love with 'the wrongun' :headbang:

beanie, you will find on any reasonably high mileage car with the ///M steering wheel that the plastics on the multi function bits are worn. Crap rubberised coating, can't be avoided :headbang:

Z4- I think if they'd come down a touch and put a bit of tax on then I'd have gone with it. I figured the car was probably worth £15.5k or maybe a litlle more in a private sale so an extra 1.5 just seemed a bit rich, maybe I'm wrong?

Bing- You're right about those plastics (a friends golf looks really shabby in places) but I guess I just expected a bit more from an AUC car at what I would consider top money for the spec and miles.

Trouble is, I've not seen that many of them yet as theres so few around, so I'm still finding my feet in terms of what a typical condition is for certain mileages. I'm still considering it but i'm currently waiting to hear about another-hopefully ill find out in the next few days.

Mine will be for sale in the new year :) in fact now lol. Just haven't put the advert together and i'm just in the midst of getting it ready. 30k on the clock, well documented service history, Taxed until May 13, MOT Nov 13, previous owner was a well known member on here too

Very few mc's around which is one reason why I bought mine instead of a 370z/ttrs/vantage/boxster mk3, a lot to be said for exclusivity !

Steve, thanks for the offer, it sounds really good but I'm afraid moray is just too far for me to travel- if I lived in the uk and had more time to sort this all out then I'd consider the distance for the right car.

Saskia-same for me. I can't remember the last time I saw a Z4M on the road, and let's face it, only M's count!

I'd actually come back with the full intention of buying an Elise 111r as having driven a couple before on road and track I was smitten with the steering feel and general experience. However, after seeing them again I was left disappointed by the price/condition ratio so decided to satisfy my curiosity and try a z4m. No going back now! It's just in a different league, a proper junior supercar as my brother pointed out  8)

I'm a big fan of Elises or Exiges , ver nimble, fast , great to look at , not enough luggage space though for the missus and not as posh as an mc. Compromises !

I've come from a VX220 (elise without the badge) and while you don't get the go kart directness of the steering, the power, acceleration and noise is 2 leagues above.
I was ready for a change after running the VX for 5 years and was looking at cayman/350z/s2000 (never liked TT's) but when I saw the money that Z4M's were goin for, my mind was made up.
The next question was R or C and, like you, the rarity appealled. They cost a bit more but I'll get that back come resale time. You might have to travel a bit (Nottingham to Newcastle for me) but it'll be worth it.

Saskia, I've never seen exige's spelt that way before

You havent kept that very long ! I was interested in the car when it was for sale a few months ago but you got there first. I did buy the handbook and touch up paint as I found a midnight blue car elsewhere and am delighted with it. This is the second time I have owned a Z4MC, the first from new. This time it is second car as need 4 seats and carrying capacity a lot of the time. Great cars.

There seems to have been quite a lot of people who have bought this year only to sell on some months later

It's been quite a surprise for me to find the Z so appealing as I've never liked nor even seen the need for all the extra comfort based crap you get in modern cars, i'd always felt it detracted from the job at hand and slowed you down. (Don't even get me started on those bloody seat belt waring systems! :x ) But in the Z it just feels right. It's such a complete car and such a physical experience that I can forgive all it's fancy toys and soft touch plastics. I must be getting old :(

I'd still like to think that one day I'll find myself in an Elise or exige as I've wanted one for years, but I've had to concede that it's just a bit too compromised/fragile as a daily car to use on Italian streets.

Beanie, that was exactly my point of view when I bought my VX. I wanted something that was purely a driving machine. Everything but the steering wheel and gear stick was added weight. But after 5 years getting in and out of such a low car with wide sills and having your eardrums battered by the mid mounted engine I was ready for a bit of luxury. My Mrs hated it.
I don't know you're age but if you've got an Elise/exige itch, don't leave it to long! And if you suffer with bad backs, forget it.

I know what you mean about access, I had an Elise SC which my wife loved and even adapted to minmalist luggage for trips, sadly she was diagnosed with MS two years ago and after she had a relapse while we were on holiday with the Elise and we had to take the roof off to help her in and out (great in the rain !) it had to go. Went back to M3s with an E92 comp pack but as she now needs a wheelchair sometimes we changed it for an X5 to allow us to carry one when needed.

The good news is that my wife can get in and out of the ZMC as it doesnt have a high sill like the Lotus.

I'm selling as I need a diesel tourer to get the bikes in as I'm about to do a lot of miles this year, also Louise and I want to have kids :)
