I had real issues with my iphone4 when going to Europe. It simply would not find a signal and when I returned to the UK same again. SIM swap was done and despite me being sceptical it has worked perfectly ever since.

Due to go to iPhone 5 in February so we shall see

That does tie in a little with going to Germany recently, although each time I've been there it's picked up a signal well. Since getting back from the last trip it has been suffering the connection issues.

Getting a new sim every time you make a trip abroad could get tiring...

It's not a new SIM each time. Was a one off fix. I've been in and out of Europe 3 to 5 times per month (probably 50 times total) since and never a single issue.

I work in ireland 4 days a week, my sim is fine working in Europe since it has been swapped.

If your having problems format it and start again usually solves problems on any format.

Ive had them since dot... iPhone, 3G, 3Gs, 4, 4s and got my dad a 5 for chrimbo and I really like it. So does he.
