What is "flash to pass" ?

When you pull back the headlight stick to let someone go. Brings headlights up if lights are on or off

Thick moment here, but don't understand. Normally, a flash is the high beam coming on for the duration of the pull. What does it do differently?
I downloaded 7041 by the way.

From what I understand you are able to set different lights to come on as a 'flash to pass' so instead of being just the high beam, it can be sidelights and fogs too, for example.

Sorry but I don't understand any of that.

Do you mean it flashes dipped beam lamps in addition to high beam? If so this would not be good for any Xenon equipped car.

Also what do you mean by letting someone go? Surely if you are flashing to tell someone to pass you then they are behind you at that point and wouldn't see any lights on the front of your car anyway? I always assumed flash to pass was when you flashed the car in front to let them know you intend to overtake them rather than let them go?

Lol! I've never flashed anyone to let them know I am going to overtake them!! Very polite though! Not heard of that!

I meant if someone was coming in the opposite direction to you and say it narrowed to a single lane, I would flash to let them go first (if that makes sense!?)

Either way, its when you pull the stalk back and the high beams come on a standard (whatever you use that for!)

There has been discussion about the xenon FTP as on many dual xenon units it uses the xenon bulb as FTP rom the factory. I had always thought it wasn't good to turn them off and on repeatedly though.

What this new section on the intravee does is allow you to choose what other lights come on as well as your high beams when using FTP. It doesn't automatically turn anything on after updating, you choose what you want to turn on

Flash to pass was added for if you replace prefacelift xenons with facelift version

On the old prefacelift the flash to pass was the inner bulb, on the facelift they use the xenon, you need this option otherwise is replace LCM.

I may of read the question on here but can't remember or ind the answer -
Can the wipers be set to auto without having to be activated first?

Currently, no.

It would be dangerous to make them do that. At least it would cause damage to the car in winter if the blades were stuck to the screen.

Hmm, that's true. Would have to make sure it was de-iced before turning on. Not sure weather the sensor would pick up ice though?

If, and it's a big if, it was possible, it could be disabled below a defined temperature to prevent damage if the blades were frozen to the screen.

If you indicate within about 2 seconds of a previous indication then the Blink Count feature will not work.

The delay is required to reset the detection of the counter and allow you to cancel the indicators by indicating in the opposite direction.

I will check again on my next trip but my last test was as I had driven my entire country lane before indicating for my drive.

Good to know about the 2 seconds rule though, as that would happen on a roundabout going right.

Have you set the vehicle type correctly as i know if you use thewrong one some of the functions dont work correctly, try setting as other and see how you go on.
