Well, with a misguided feel of confidence having read various threads on here, as well as having installed one in my old mini, I decided last night was the night to whip out the cd changer and install the intravee in a new cubby box I bought from my local dealer.
I wont be trying it again in a hurry. The guides on here are somewhat different to some of the problems I encountered, albeit I have a coupe not a roadster. I particularly struggled with the cd changer cables being so short. Glad to say its almost working (I think the firmware or UI settings need adjusting, but sound is coming through!
The car is back together again and I only bust one screw and its housing which I now need to try and order.
My advice... Dont try this unless you have a lot of patience, but it feels good when you have done it.
Cupholders... 5 mins each side. If only everything was that easy.
