If they have your serial number it won't take long. Best to do through proper channels. You can download all the software from the Intravee site.

Found the files in my sent mail folder. Forwarded the mail to you which was rejected by your mailserver with an error that the message contained a virus, was spam, or sender blocked.

Based on that Intravention may have mailed you and got a similar result...

Either way, nothing anyone can do if your ISP is bouncing mails

Sounds like good service from intravee....
on another note, how good/reliable do you guys find the intravee, and am i right in assuming every1 is using it with the alpine 420i for i-pod control??
thinking of buying these soon,
cheers

Mine is running beta firmware and has been rock solid. You can only use Alpine AiNet modules on it and the KCA-420i is the only supported iPod playback device

HTH

Can anyone take me through a idiots guide, 'step by step how to' on doing this. I've got all the parts and firmware gumph and just haven't got the computer skills knowledge to do it. I've tried atleast 10 times and just havent got a clue what im doing.

Is it installed in the car and working? (ie just running with older firmware)
- If not, install it first as it needs to be wired up to do the upgrades.

Have you got a USB to Serial Cable for your PC?
If Yes, Have you connected it to the PC and loaded all the right drivers (this will happen automatically if connected to the Internet)
If No, you'll need to get one which you can do HERE
- This cable is the one Intravention recommend. Others are available, you want one with an FTDI chipset

Have you got the Intravee utility to load the firmware onto it?

Yes I have the intravee all wired up been using it for two years no problems just want the extra features. Got the cable tried connecting it up etc but this is where I get lost. Dont know how to get the firmware into the intravee. Really havent got a clue.

you need the downloader software from www.intravention.co.uk

the first one I tried didnt work and had to tweek something on the laptop settings wise to get it to recognise the usb lead I was using.

when it right, you will see the software screen flood with ibus messages and then you just follow the instructions, its really simple from that point. Getting the laptop and intravee to connect and see each other was the hardest part for me

Ok. In that case you need to find the port number that the pc has issued the serial cable. It will be com1 com2 etc and you'll need to set that in the Intravention downloader software. Think of this as the door number in a street. Get it wrong and the software is talking to the wrong place. Look in device manager and you'll see com ports In the list. You can expand the list and see any installed

The other thing is if you see gibberish on the screen, then the settings of the com port are probably wrong. You can check these by right clicking on the com port, click properties and then you'll see speed etc. the safest best is 9600bps, no parity, 8 bits

If you're lost, I'll take some screenshots from my laptop and post them up later on. I'm on Tapatalk right now

I take it the intravee allows you to use the iPhone as a hands free kit too? Cheers for this thread, I was looking at the DICE mediabridge but I like how this utilises the nav screen.
