Intravee & Alpine unit (not mine) - and some other random

ah, ok. Well, there is of course the overflow bit where the brake fluid will go in the clutch reservoir so when the clutch fails, the brakes fail at the same time

Just driven into work with the roof down, lovely morning for it. Despite the bright sunny morning, I noticed my headlights were on (set to auto). I checked on the intravee & it was saying 'twighlight' and level 4.

Is this something I have done in the settings somehow? I believe I avoided all light coding after Bing's issues. Perhaps it is just something I have never noticed before, but seems daft to have the headlights on when it is so bright.

I know I can simply turn auto lights off, but like to have them set as been used to it with my last 6 cars. All I could find on searching was that a dealer can adjust the sensitivity of them.

Don't think you've done anything Matt

As far as I'm aware the Intravee can't/doesn't change the sensitivity of the auto lights sensor, it just shows you the value the sensor is reporting (should be in the range 1-8) and converts this into a people friendly readout such as daylight/twilight/darkness. I remember seeing a couple of others such as garage or tunnel too

Cheers Perry - just seemed amazing that they were on in bright sunshine, guess it is just the way the car is.

BSD arrived this morning, thank you very much - will let you know how I get on with it. Had forgotten completely about it & wondered what drunked ebay / amazon purchase I had made over the weekend!

Once they're on, there's a built-in delay to avoid rapid cycling as Xenons don't like that. Is it possible that you may have been in a darker area a few minutes earlier?

No problem, assume you have a spare spray bottle?

Spray some on a panel, then use two microfibre cloths, one to spread the BSD evenly over the panel and the second one to buff it

Not uncommon for headlights to come on in bright sunshine. Something to do with the frequency of the light more than anything.

Nah, it is the wiring into the overhead unit. srhutch must have cut the wrong wire to attach the camera to it, and now the light sensor no longer works.

Have I andysatted you yet mj2k?

Forgot to buy the spray bottle at lunch when I popped out :headbang:

Good comments regarding the lights.

When did the verb 'to andysat' appear

Know it is not the wire, as they have been off before :poke:
