My insurance renewal, comes up on the 1st March and has gone by over £100.

Having checked out Go Compare and the Meerkat guys and I am at £889 with eSure

I'm 36, no points, live in an ok area... any recommendations for anyone you think will offer good insurance cheaper would be great.

Cheers

I'm 32 and have just renewed for about £750 with Elephant, which includes an additional charge for non-standard alloys.

Try confused.com just to add another string to your bow and add another (responsible) driver to the policy (parent or other half) even if they won't drive it.

Change your details very slightly, mis spelt name and also a day younger, stick them back through again so you appear as a new customer and use data to challenge renewal. Always worked for me. I pay just under £400!! 38, no points, garaged, csl's and 6k per annum, no tracker.

I pay £318 with Adrian Flux for a 2.5SE, comprehensive with protected no claims bonus but I am 57 and limit the mileage to below 3000 miles pa car garaged. Be wary of More Than, they may have changed their policy now but a few years ago when I come to change from More Than to Vauxhall insurance (for an Astra) there was a problem with no claims bonus. Because More Than award full no claims for 4 years driving without fault when you insure with a company that awards full no claims after say 5 years More Than would only state 4 years clear, I got around this by showing my previous renewal before More Than which stated 9 years or more no claims. They may be different now as this was 4 years ago.

I also use Adrian Flux - 33, living in London, £850ish although limited to 5,000 miles. They always price match on renewal if I find it cheaper elsewhere...

Admiral is good but I use Adrian Flux, challenge them to beat the best quote you find and you should get a result I'm 31, with a modded zmr in Richmond and over 12k pa and I pay 750 with key cover etc

How do you afford to live in Richmond, drive a Z and earn 12k PA?

Sorry mate....haha

My RRS doubles from £299 to £600 with no reason behind it other than market forces they said....one of the reasons why I sold it...

Chris Knott put mine up from £430 to nearly £550 WTF :o only paid £450 FC when i bought the car 3 years ago insured for 17.5k dont know why had been with them for two years no claims but i had expected this and already got a quote from Adrian Flux £420 FC 5k PA  Age 48 3 points.

I know bloody government handouts eh?! That price is 100 more than I paid last year too. Insurance is a bugger!

Wow that is incredible :o Who's it with?!

alliance and leicester I think but would have to double check when at home. Due for renewal in June so sounds like a shock might be on the cards

I had he same problem this year.... 750 last year, renewal came in at 1400!! With full no claims, decent post code and no points.

Changed to admiral now, at 800 after I put my father on the policy.

Mine has also gone up!!! Now £750, £100 more than last yr. Although my misses is on the policy and she's only 22.

Just paid £450 for mine. 59 with full no claims and 5k per annum. Slightly up on last year with 'More Than'. I have an L10 post code which puts the premium up as parts of Liverpool are 'high risk'. Mind, I don't live in Liverpool but have a Liverpool post code. Makes no sense but then insurance never does.

First Direct bank are offering to beat any written renewal by 10% or more. Just got them to insure my MG for 10% less than LV renewal quote. Might be worth people checking that out. They refused to quote me for the 'M' as it was a 'high performance ' car. :(

Mine has gone down slightly to £750 which includes 5 track days, business use for myself and my wife.

Garaged, 41, Full no claims, 3 points.

Insured with CCI using an Aviva policy.

£382.84 with equity redstar through A&L, it was a guarantee to beat your renewal a couple of years ago and just stuck with them since.

Mine was £1385 last year....so fingers crossed it's gonna get cheaper (even though it's lower and has an exhaust!).
