We all like a moan about insurance companies so i have to say what a professional & easy to deal with company Classicline are .
Now on my third consecutive term after renewing this morning after some ridiculous quotes from some who will remain nameless 8)
£450 Fc/2 drivers/garaged/5k yr/euro cover & uk breakdown inc
Oh & the best bit ? When you ring the number a person answers with "Classicline can i help you " , yeah a real person ! !
not some automated queuing system that tells me i,m at no 4 & that my call is important to them while i listen to 5mins blurb about nothing of relevance :headbang:
& they never charge me for plate changes either
happy times for Classicline

Wow real people!! I don't believe you...

Yeah mate ! a proper lady with her own voice & you get to talk to her then she responds  its a real breakthrough in technology it seems :D

I was thinking about car insurance this morning as I was laying in bed .....in 1987 I insured a new Renault 5 GT turbo for £273.00......I paid £410 last week to insure the Z4

Now factor in I lived out in the sticks in Lincolnshire back in 1987 and I now live in outer London

so all in all car insurance has stayed below the rate of inflation ( for me) :?

Ever since I started driving in 1990 my insurance has been around £500 per year regardless of the car. It's only dropped since buying the ///M last year and now paying £370.

Have to say I think I will be back with Classic line next year, as said no fees for reg transfer and I think they are more mod friendly than some other companies. There are certain stipulations though like Garaging the car every night when at home and last year I couldn't get commuting cover which wasn't a major issue but handy for those lovely summer days 6 times a year. That option was available this year but due to admiral cock up who under charged me they worked out cheaper than CL.

It is difficult for me as I have the 5 cars to insure, the Golf is a real classic but is not currently at guaranteed value so I am at risk on that one, but the M was very cheap at £220 with Admiral.

Reading the T&C they are not as bad as Churchill re mods and there is nothing there that I have done to the car that I see is worth mentioning to them.

What about the aeros when you fit?

Not relevant for insurance purposes in my opinion. It is an OEM part.

They were not interested in any other OEM part I have on my car.

I thought you had a quote for aero skirts a couple of years ago and they wanted stupid money to add them.

Not when I took the policy out. When going through my car with all OEM options, they said they were not bothered as long as they were OEM BMW parts. Whether a part is ordered with the car when new or added after that, does not make any difference. The last bit is my interpretation though.

Ahh

I accept that I won't get the money back for them if the car is stolen, but not bothered about that.

On my discussion (depends on who you speak to I guess), they specifically mentioned that a factory fitted option was NOT classed as a modification. I am sure that if I call another time again, a factory option is classed as a modification.

I took her name at the time as I liked what I heard and will refer back to that conversation if ever I need to. Not that they can ever find a recording back as I asked for that before when they tried to raise the premium for the Polo when my daughter passed her test even though they had told me it wouldn't.

Its all very nice when you have some one to talk to ,the time you really find out how good they are is when you make a claim.
I have been with Admiral for a couple of years and their quotes are allways competitive especially when you play them off against their sister company Elephant.Never had to claim as yet,but her indoors has had two no fault claims in the last three years on our other car.
This year i paid £260 on 3.0, 5000 miles/year, garaged .I am the wrong side of 60 which helps keep the price down.
