Hi all
I have my old 3 series up for sale, and since buying the Zed I cancelled the insurance on this old car (it doesn't even run - probably going to have it scrapped).
I just got a letter from the DVLA saying I have a £100 fine for being uninsured - I have not driven the car since cancelling the insurance.
I was under the impression that to declare SORN you had to physically move the car off the road - its parked on the street outside my house, as I don't have a driveway.
Any suggestions on how I should proceed?
The letter says if I pay up by 2nd Sep the fine is only £50. If I have to suck this up then so be it, but I am not happy at all. I thought the offence was *Driving* while uninsured?
