Got 'the letter' today. Would seem esure are after another £477.76 of my hard earned in order for me to continue to live in the fully comp lifestyle I've become so accustomed to.

MRoadster, owner aged 40, garaged in SE3, full no claims

Any recommendations or should I seek winter garage insurance since I'm hardy going to be using her during the next 5/6 months. Tax runs out end March so potentially do both for 6 months again then. How much even is insurance for non use?!

Stick her trickle charge and sit out the winter. Anything else I should be doing?

Im with Esure and have been for years....

£342 IIRC with PNCD and £250 excess...

If i didnt protect my NCD and went for £500 Excess is was under £300....

Price seems good on both above RE insurance , , ,as for wintering the car ? Still some great days to enjoy the car in winter , ,i took my 964 out in all weathers but always went home via powerwash so i could rinse it off before garaging , , ,
life,s too short inkey 8) enjoy the car as much as poss , junior inkey no2 may happen then what ?

Mines due within the next month, I'm currently with Classicline Inkey$

Good company , ,been with them 4/5 years now , , highlight for me ? When i ring up i get to speak to a real person  no automated system & they have never charged me to plate change

Sky insurance are still getting my vote can't fault them and they never charged me anything when I moved house bonus

I renewed mine yesterday - completely bargain from Direct Line (30% cheaper than my esure renewal and lower excess) and may also get a £40 quidco cashback if it tracks.

Admiral/Diamond here. MR which is garaged, similar age to you and clean driving history. £257

Did you all go direct for quotes or via a comparison website?

I use the comparison websites to try and work out if Direct Line are taking the pi55. This year mrs b's insurance was £100 less than last, none of the comparison sites got close. When they realised my home insurance with them was not tagged to the policy I got another £50 off. I'd always call to negotiate even if I found a great quote online.

I used comparison sites to begin with then phoned Sky and gave them the best price I had so far they than beat that so I went with them. They claimed I got a forum discount as well don't know if this was true but I was happy with the deal.

Go direct, but use comparison to get an idea of what I'm looking in the region of

Okay, just used a comparison site, plus direct website quotes with Classicline and Direct Line. Yet to call in person but the results are as follows:

ESURE renewal letter: £477.76
ESURE via GoCompare (cheapest result): £520.35 (?)
ClassicLine: £calling me
Direct Line: £540.60

Out of interest, how much would winter cover be if I did lay the car up for 5 months comparatively?

Updated after hearing directly from Classicline...

It varies a lot depending on options.

I've just renewed with BMW insurance at £428, that was with protected no claims bonus and £150 voluntary excess. I saw lots of cheaper deals on price comparison sites but invariably with much higher voluntary excess.
