Really impressed by Jason from ProTech. He is an ex-Sytner (Wycombe) senior tech and set up his own shop in Aylesbury a couple of years ago. Very easy to deal with and clearly very passionate about his job.

My car went in for the following last week: Inspection 1, replacement of front wishbones/bushes/ARB links, brake fluid service, SIB 33 04 08 (lubricate diff input flange - stops the "clunk"), re-welded the rear exhaust bracket, investigated and diagnosed a cooling fan issue, re-tapped the sump and fitted an over-sized bung, and replaced and re-fitted exhaust studs (all four were shot).

I supplied the wishbone kit and he's given me the part numbers for the fan so I can find and fit it myself. Parts & labour for the rest came to a little more than you would pay to tax a Z4M at the moment (inc VAT). Says a lot for getting your car serviced at a decent indie!

Thanks pal, certainly much cheaper than I had quoted down here - £400+ for HD wishbones and fitting. Think I'll still DIY though but will keep them in mind for the future.

What were your diff symptoms?
