On the earlier models there is a large plastic cover in this area that is removed to enable the wheel to be sited. This might still be the same.
This cannot be done on S models as the exhaust runs up the centre leaving no room for a wheel.
If needed the wheel can only be used on the rear, so if you get a puncture on the front, you move the good rear onto the front and put the space saver on the rear.
useful info and something to investigate when the tyres need replacement, having said that the ride is nowhere near as jarring as the zed on it's original bridgestones.
